5.0 out of 5 stars So different... extremely cool
Columbia Sportswear Men's Spinner Moc Amphibious Shoe

My first reaction to this shoe was why would you want a strap across the back and what is it?

First they fit great and have a low almost sandal feel to them.

The sole, has a great boat grip, drain holes across the front to let out water and breathe.

The Backstrap,...

There is no attempt to make a product with a decent finish. The fabric is cut in such a way that there are loose threads. Just awfull, not worth one third of the price paid. Shame for a brand such as Columbia. Will never buy from them ever again

This review is from: Columbia Sportswear Men's Spinner Moc Amphibious Shoe (Apparel)

The Backstrap, when the shoe gets wet this holds nicely to your skin it is not stiff as it looks in the picture. a silicone type feel but not sticky.

These fit a lot like the original crocks and look much better on your feet.

I will review back if they do not hold up long term. But for now I am sold and ready to buy one more color.

The only negative thing to say is they look so different at first glance.

Update: they have Omni-Shield advanced repellency for water and stain protection. This could come in handy for fishing trips.

I bought some to give my Dad for Fathers day...

This is one shoe I bought without even having an idea of how it feels in reality. I was suprised with its quality and comfort. This is a perfect wear for mild home use or outside for walking. Its easy to wash/clean.

The Spinner Mocs are an excellent boat shoe. Great wet traction and comfort, for a long day of fishing. Thanks. Jim

5.0 out of 5 stars Great shoes!, June 13, 2011

Very light shoes, nicely vented.Nice & comfortable.
The rubber heel is actually really nice, and doesn't (as I thought it might) be a littel uncomfortable, but no; very nice lightweight, easy drying summer shoes!

5.0 out of 5 stars Happy With Purchase, June 4, 2011

Style: Well, you can see them yourself. I like the style mix, which is rather unique. Unlike a normal sandal these keep your feet from being sunburned, a massive upside. Addressing specific concerns:

"There is no attempt to make a product with a decent finish." - I guess if they were made of leather or wood I would agree.

"The fabric is cut in such a way that there are loose threads." - The design has "fringed" edges past the seams, giving it a "beach-bum" worn look, only around the heel / tongue area of the shoe, and have not frayed to the seam line or effected the overall quality of my pair.

Comfort: The "Techlite Integrated Footbed" sole is like a dense foam-rubber that feels great. The bottom tread is like a standard sneaker so it's great for anywhere you would walk in sneakers. The canvas top already helps vent heat, but the liner all around where the canvas meets the footbed has 12 vents about 1mm wide (all those holes around the front) so your foot stay DRY. The back rubber strap is a really flexible and will keep these on at all times, even jogging (not that I would use these for sports).

Overall: I greatly prefer these to my standard sandal. They breath like open-toe sandals but hold tight like a standard shoe, and are comfortable with extended wear. If I were faced with making this purchase again, I would, and am quite pleased with standards Columbia has put out.

Additional Note: I have wide feet, but needing a size 15 my choices are limited. I bought the standard-width size 15 which were tight at first, but with wear fit perfectly. Make sure to measure your feet carefully, as most people have one foot slightly larger than the other which can effect your wear-ability drastically.
