These shoes were bought for the very reason they were advertised - to go hiking. They are very comfortable and offer good grip. I have taken them to some really rugged places and they are holding up just fine. I wore them on rugged and sharp limestone rocks and i have not noticed any scratches that were common with my previous hiking shoes (maybe i was just a little more careful). Early morning walking in wet grass was better than i expected as it resisted the water for long time before i started feeling my toes getting wet (you might ask how long is a 'long time'? honestly i don't remember but it was note worthy that they resisted water). By the end of the day it was more or less dry. This is because it is so well ventilated.

My only disappointment is with the laces. Somewhere along the way, thorns got a hold of the lace and pulled on some of the individual fibres. As a result the lace got drawn up - shrunk at points by the snagged strands. it was impossible to tug on the lace to get the strands back into place so i had to cut them off. it did not compromise the entire lace though. A more durable lace could have been used. Ohh 1 more thing, the laces come loose very easily. No matter how tight i draw the laces they come loose, sometimes a few times in one day. That can be frustrating. I have devised a double knot that seems to be working for now. I would recommend this shoes to anyone who goes hiking ... its very comfy.

Shoes feel great. They are comfortable and breathe well. This was the second time I have bought Columbia hiking shoes. Would recommend shoes for anyone.

I bought this pair of shoes based on the look, price, & name. I had heard good things about Columbia. The price was fairly good. I am very happy with the shoes. They are very comfortable! No long days working the shoe in - good the first day. The look is nice - good to where almost anywhere.

The con would be the sole. They have a rugged sole that looks & feels good at first. But they get a bit slippery on wet floors. Walking into a store on a rainy day you find the tile floors slippery. This is not just at one store. It has happened to me a number of places. Never had this on my old shoes.

It is a shame Amazon did away with the price guarantee. The day after I bought these the price was cut. They would not refund the difference. I was told I had to reorder them & return the pair I was getting. For $8 is was not worth it. Love Amazon but this made me pause about their policies.

this product is ok ,but only one problem they are a little snug ,but they are still ok for a nice walk.I would suggest you get a .5 size larger

This Columbia shoe has excellent traction, allows your feet to breath, fits right (10 was a perfect fit), and is one of the most comfortable pair of shoes I have worn. After a year of wear (light trail hiking), they have remained quite durable. Also note that the shoes appear darker in the photograph on Amazon's webpage than in actuality. I bought a second pair as a backup (the price is right), and wouldn't hesitate to buy another Columbia shoe in the future. Highly recommended.

I once swore I would never buy shoes online again, but the price on these was so good I had to do it. I'm glad I did. This is the best pair of shoes I have ever owned, including shoes that have cost me 5 times the price. I've had them 8 months wearing them daily for walking and work, and they are just now starting to break down. Wish I had bought several pairs since they seem to be no longer available. Why is it that when I find something good they quit selling them?

I bought these shoes about 6 months ago and they are so stiff that my feet don't wanna bend in them across the top of my foot so it tends to make me walk sort of flatfooted is the best I can describe it. I havn't worn them alot so I am hoping that they will limber up as I break them in more.

Not so good looking but your feet will be happy, when it is not raining too much.Too much water it is getting through and it will get your socks wet.That is not so good, so for a better pair of shoes brake the piggy bank and buy yourself something a little bit more expensive, same brand.Columbia is still a good brand.

I will be watching for this one on sale again. Comfortable, solid craftmanship, durable. I am really happy with this purchase.

I bought these shoes for my husband for Christmas. He loves them!! He says they are very comfortable. So then I bought a pair for each of my grandsons, they wear them all the time. Got a great shoe, for a very good price. What more could you ask for?
