Keep your kids' feet warm and dry with these seam-sealed, water-resistant boots from Columbia. The boots feature a one-piece, injection-molded thermoplastic rubber outsole and an upper portion made with water-resistant suede and nylon. A bungee drawstring and barrel-lock closure at the top keeps out snow and rain. The insulation includes a 6-millimeter, recycled, removable, wool felt liner and a Rock Pile fleece collar. The boots are rated for temperatures as low as -25 degrees F.

Omni-Shield Advanced Repellency is a barrier that resists light rain and stains, keeping you clean and protected. This coated fabric resists all liquids below 170 degrees F from absorbing into the yarns and staining the garment. (The treatment has no noticeable effect on the feel of the material.) The fabric itself will also dry three to five times faster than untreated fabric and will not hold moisture like a conventional fabric, thus remaining lightweight even when wet.

Columbia was one of the first companies to make jackets from waterproof/breathable fabric. The company introduced the breakthrough technology called the Columbia Interchange System, in which a shell and liner combine for multiple wearing options. In the early 1980s, then-60-year-old Gert began her role as "Mother Boyle" in Columbia's successful and popular advertising campaign.

The company went public in 1998 and moved into a new era as a world leader in the active outdoor apparel industry. Today, Columbia Sportswear employs more than 1,800 people around the world and distributes and sells products in more than 50 countries and to more than 12,000 retailers internationally.
