Handy pockets and helpful performance features combine with simple styling and clean lines to deliver a hard-working fishing shirt fit for the discerning sportswoman. The Women's Bahama Long Sleeve is vented to facilitate airflow so you stay cool on hot days. Long sleeves and built in UPF 30 sun protection shield you from harsh UV rays, so you can stay outside and enjoy the warm summer weather for as long as your heart desires. When the temperature rises, roll the sleeves for a little extra fresh air.

Omni-Wick Advanced Evaporation

Omni-Wick is the ultimate moisture-management technology for the outdoors. Its superior wicking properties move moisture away from the body and enable perspiration to evaporate quickly. During physical activity, increased body temperature causes perspiration (you know: sweat). Normally this results in damp, clammy, and uncomfortable clothing (not to mention unattractive).

With Omni-Wick clothing, moisture is quickly wicked up into the fabric, and away from the wearer's skin. The moisture spreads out across the surface of the fabric where it quickly evaporates. This wicking/evaporation process keeps the wearer cool and the clothing dry. You stay dry, which helps regulate temperature, prevent chafing and keep you comfortable all day. Work up a sweat without getting all wet.

Omni-Shade Sun Protection

Columbia Sportswear's Omni-Shade clothing protects you by blocking the majority of the sun's harmful rays so you can stay out longer. It's like sunscreen that you don't have to re-apply--and it's as easy as getting dressed. Omni-Shade blocks UVA and UVB rays, helping to prevent sun burn and long-term skin damage through a tight weave construction, UV reflectors, and UV-absorbing technology.

Current consumer awareness centers around Sun Protection Factor, or SPF, which is a measure of sunburn reduction from sunblock. However, SPF does not indicate any protection from UVA rays, which are harmful and present even on cloudy days. Like sunblock, Omni-Shade is given a numeric value to indicate its level of sun protection.

About Columbia Sportswear

Founded in 1938, Columbia Sportswear Company has grown from a small family-owned hat distributor to one of the world's largest outerwear brands and the leading seller of skiwear in the United States. Columbia's extensive product line includes a wide variety of outerwear, sportswear, rugged footwear and accessories. Columbia specializes in developing innovative products that are functional yet stylish and offer great value. Eighty-year-old matriarch Gert Boyle, Chairman of the Board, and her son, Tim Boyle, President and CEO, lead the company.

Columbia's history starts with Gert's parents, Paul and Marie Lamfrom, when they fled Germany in 1937. They bought a small hat distributorship in Portland, Oregon, and named it Columbia Hat Company, after the river bordering the city. Soon frustrated by poor deliveries from suppliers, the Lamfroms decided to start manufacturing products themselves. In 1948, Gert married college sweetheart Neal Boyle, who joined the family business and later took the helm of the growing company. When Neal suddenly died of a heart attack in 1970, Gert enlisted help from Tim, then a college senior. After that it wasn't long before business really started to take off. Columbia was one of the first companies to make jackets from waterproof/breathable fabric. They introduced the breakthrough technology called the Columbia Interchange System, in which a shell and liner combine for multiple wearing options. In the early 1980s, then 60 year-old Gert began her role as "Mother Boyle" in Columbia's successful and popular advertising campaign.

The company went public in 1998 and moved into a new era as a world leader in the active outdoor apparel industry. Today, Columbia Sportswear employs more than 1,800 people around the world and distributes and sells products in more than 50 countries and to more than 12,000 retailers internationally.

This shirt is the best. I have had pre cancerous growths removed, a family history of skin cancer and on top of it cannot wear sunscreen because of allergies. I was advised by my derm to just stay out of the sun. This is not an option with two young kids. This shirt keeps the sun at bay and is very cool on a HOT day. More so than just wearing a tank top because it keeps the sun off the skin and lets any breeze in. Life saver! The only useful note I would add is that I did order a darker color and the material seemed to be more textured and thick than the lighter colored versions of the shirt. I sent it back and purchased a white one and it is HEAVEN to the touch!

Good sun protection and a comfortable fit for warm weather, too. This shirt is less fitted than some of Columbia's other shirts, and so much more practical for active outdoor summer activities and pursuits, than their more closely-fitting styles. If you are going to be gardening, sailing, or engaging in other activities where you'd prefer your movements to be less inhibited than when wearing clothing which is strictly designed from only a fashion perspective, this shirt would be an excellent choice.

The product is great, BUT Columbia has always been messy with sizes. I use normally L or even XL but with Columbia I use M. My wife uses S, for Columbia she is an XS. My mother in law got this one and she uses L so we asked for M. But now BOOM! the M is too small. It is like a real M. My wife got same one in white 2 weeks ago and no problem, of course getting one size smaller. So I don't really know what to recommend you.

I love this shirt!I wished for something like this when my arms and chest began to look like alligator skin from braving the sun even before 10 am! This shirt is feather light (I bought a light color) and as cool as it is possible in 90F+ weather. After a 4 mile walk on very hot weather I don't seem to sweat any more on it than wearing a cami and a super-light ribbed tank on top. It washes and dries quickly, and because it's so light I roll it and keep in my slim camel bag pocket when not sure I'll need it. Sometimes I use it with a light sports bra under it, and because it buttons to the top it protects my chest without making me feel overheated. As a bonus, I find this shirt fashionable as a light jacket and wear it for shopping as well as for driving to keep arms and chest from the sun.

I ordered this in a small but it was huge on me and kind of a blah color - mirage - a very pale grayish blue. The pockets were also useless, since they are positioned in such a way that it would look ridiculous to use them for more than a key or a flat item. I returned it. Surprisingly (in a good way) the other columbia shirt style - which I ordered in the same size, at the same time - the "super tamiami in vivid blue, bali criss cross pattern" had similar sun protection, fit great (much smaller and more flattering) and had zip pockets in the side seam that proved to be very useful. Apparently there is not much size consistency across these seemingly similar products.

According to the measurements I was a large but it is huge on me. Should have gotten a medium. I'm 40 inches across.

Very nice shirt. Just what I wanted. Sizing close to perfect (maybe a little larger than expected). Only fault...a bit too transparent for my liking. Great over a tee shirt for layering.

This shirt was used as a lightweight coverup extensively on an 8 day cruise of the Galapagos islands. The long sleeves protect arms from sunburn. Fabric is lightweight and dries quickly and seems to resist abrasion quite well. Loose fit allows layering over a tee shirt.
