This coat is so light weight, yet so warm.

Thumb holes in cuffs are an added plus, great way to seal out drafts when wearing mittens, or help keep hands warm without them.

I was very happy when I discovered Columbia made this jacket in a longer version with a hood.

Personal Stats: I live in Western Maine, where sub-zero temperatures are a routine fact of life in the winter. I'm 6 feet tall, wear size 12/14, and ordered the XL in the bluish-grey color.

PROS:

- Coat is MUCH warmer than expected. When it arrived, I almost sent it back because I could not see how something so thin could possibly keep me warm in the winter. Boy, was I wrong! Even with just a thin layer underneath, I'm actually too hot in this jacket when out walking around in normal winter temperatures (15*- 30* F).

- Sleeves are long enough for my arms-- can't tell you how happy this makes me!

- Thumb holes in cuffs are an added plus, great way to seal out drafts when wearing mittens, or help keep hands warm without them.

- Large, insulated hood.

- Love the bluish grey color-- works with everything (including eyes, lol), and general cut of coat is flattering.

- Great coverage: falls to mid-thigh on me, but wish it were knee-length (height issue).

- Roomier cut than the other Columbia jacket I have--great to have the extra space for a sweater on really cold days.

- It is truly MIGHTY light! Feels like you are wearing nothing, hence my surprise that it keeps me so toasty.

- Wonderful non-down alternative. If you care about these things, this coat is vegan-friendly!

- Metal zipper is a plus-- much sturdier than the plastic kind.

CONS/ Suggestions for Improvement:

- Sleeves are not quite long enough for my thumbs to fit through the thumb holes comfortably. However, I'm taller than average and I see that many people complain that the sleeves are too long. To augment that problem, it would be great if Columbia could offer Short and Tall size options.

I purchased this jacket because I had the wonderful experience last year when I bought the Mighty Lite II. It was so light weight, yet extremely warm. It washes nicely and the material held up just like new. I was very happy when I discovered Columbia made this jacket in a longer version with a hood. I am 5ft 6in,150 lbs , and the size large fits well with ample room. The jacket sits about 2 inches above my knees. The pockets are lined with a soft warm material. My only complaint is that the hood is not lined with the omni-heat material. There is plenty of room to wear a hat under the hood if you wish. I will buy this product again and again. I hope Columbia will come out with more omni-heat products.

I purchased this jacket to wear in the snow. It looks great in the picture, but it is much longer then I expected. I am 5'4" was looking for a jacket that hit mid thigh. I order a small petite which should have allowed for the obvious difference between my height and the model used in the photo. However, the jacket hits at 3 inches above the knee. Which makes me look like my jacket is too big. I'm sending it back for only that reason. I like everything else about it. It is light weight and good quality.

I ordered this jacket just in the nick of time! The temp in Chicago this winter has been very mild but two days after receiving this coat the temperature dropped and we got our first inch of snow!! This jacket has kept me warm and dry. The extra piece on the sleeves does a great job of keeping the skin on my wrist (where there is a natural gap between coats and gloves) warm and toasty too. The jacket does a great job of releasing heat too since I have worn it inside for extended periods and not had to take it off. I love that the jacket is thin and lightweight yet manages to keep me incredibly warm! The best part is that I am doing this all without harming some poor goose(for the down).

Sizing wise I ordered a small and have more than enough room to wear sweaters under it. I normally wear a size medium in everything else but the small is enough room and ease of movement without too much excess bulk. I love this coat and would recommend it to anyone!

I really agonized about buying this jacket. It seems like every coat I try is too short in the sleeves. I just got the jacket in the gravel color tonight. The sleeves are long and perfect!! Hand insert is awesome!! The color is darker than it shows in the picture, which I like. Got a size small. Fit is great but is pretty straight cut. If you have biger hips (I have boy hips!) then get a size up maybe. I am 5'8", 130# about 34-28-34. Only thing I don't like is that it is kind of shiny. I don't like jackets with a sheen... looks cheaper to me. On other sites the coat looked more of a dull/matte grey. Nope! Not sure if I will return it for that or not... love the coat otherwise!! Very toasty!!

UPDATE: Someone had mentioned that the gravel color has a green undertone. It certainly does! When I put it next to something grey it looks green!!! And next to my grey/black boots it is green! Just an FYI.

I live near Cambridge, Mass and am allergic to down! I needed a long jacket that kept me warm without being super bulky. This jacket is SO NICE! I've worn it in the early winter storms, out walking the dogs and out at night, and it's been great. I was pretty skeptical of the little silver dots of reflective material and how they would keep me warm, but I have to say, if you lay a tiny corner of this jacket over your knee, you notice your knee gets warm within a few seconds;I was blown away. The neck zips up to my nose, and it's slimming without a belt. There are thumb holes in the tight wrist material that keep cold air from whoosing up your arms, while also keeping your gloves in place.

I'm 5'4", 115lbs, 25" waist and I usually wear an xs in most outdoor gear, so I went tts with this jacket. It fits really well, and, though I feel silly, I definitely have room to layer under it (maybe not a puffy vest, but definitely a long sleeve shirt or sweater, plus a slim-fitting hoodie will fit). The sleeves are long enough, and the thumb-holes are great. The hood is also warm and insulated. If you're worried about how silly the silver dots look, I haven't noticed anyone caring, and you can't see very well once it's on. Plus, it's freezing outside, so it's totally worth it!

Excellent jacket overall, and I'm hoping it can keep me warm in the coldest parts of winter (will update in January!)
