I'm an XS petite in women's (5'4" and 110lbs) and and this jacket was perfectly true to size and had room for two layers underneath for skiing. It doesn't look poufy and while slightly boxy, overall it's still an attractive ski jacket that I didn't mind wearing off the slopes too. I never bothered to detach the inner jacket from the outer one but it's nice to have the option. There were side pockets and an inner pocket which kept my phone dry on the mountain. Highly recommended.

I just purchased the Vertical Convert Interchange today in a Women's small from a local store. It was the last one in stock and a great price, comparable to what I see on Amazon (around $80 off list of $200). True to other reviews, it is VERY fitted. I love a shaped ski jacket instead of a baggy box, but this is on the verge of being too snug in the waist & shoulder area. I am just shy of 5' 5" and 120lbs. I have long arms so was pleased with the sleeve length, it is definitely a bit longer. If you are looking for a roomy jacket, I would not recommend this coat; sizing up would result in longer sleeves but there wasn't much difference between an XS & S when I tried it on in store other than sleeve length.

Cons:

-This is supposed to be my go-to ski coat. We live in the Pacific NW and get a lot of heavy snow (wet snow) so "powder" is more like "peanut butter" and we need lots of layers to stay dry & warm. The powder skirt is part of the outer shell and once the inner liner is in place, the powder skirt is enclosed behind the liner, so there is no way to use it. I guess you could unzip the shell from the liner, put on the liner, and snap the powder skirt around/over it...but that could be a huge con. I've never found a powder skirt absolutely essential, but if you do, be aware!

-The shell's pocket zippers are the higher quality finer 'gauge' zipper but the main zippers on both coats are bulkier and seem like they might not stand up to heavy use.

Overall, I'm pleased with the price tag, but if you're an avid outdoorswoman who spends a lot of time in deep snow, this jacket might not be ideal. I have owned other Columbia gear in the past (both for my kids and myself) and have been impressed with the quality which is why I'm still wavering about this coat. Good luck!

I ordered the vertical convert jacket in a white small. I was really looking for a 3-in-1 jacket with a puffy jacket underneath (vs. fleece jacket). The jacket was really cute - both the inside and outside ones...but the material seemed like it would hold dirt very easily. I'm also 5' tall and large chested so this jacket could barely zip up. Plus, it felt like it was pinching in the arm/shoulder/armpit area (this has been mentioned in many reviews of Columbia's jackets). The zippers seemed a tad flimsy for it being a ski jacket and it seemed to lack pockets. I returned this jacket, and ended up ordering an alternative Columbia jacket from REI in a medium. Although, I know the sleeves will be quite long, I'm hoping the medium will work. Amazon did a free return, great customer service.

Skiing requires a lot of moving around and also a lot of standing still, and all of it out in the cold on top of a mountain. A versatile jacket is pretty important if you want to ski uninterrupted by temperature-related discomfort! All the layers and zippers on this jacket are a bit overwhelming when you first take it out of the box, but all of them have a use and you will appreciate them out there.

The color is periwinkle (like a cross between blue and orchid), which is fine for me, but less blue than others might want. High quality. Super warm. I usually wear large shirts, but after reading the other reviews I ordered an extra large. It JUST fit my shoulders. I would recommend sizing up for most people.

Purchased this jacket after rave reviews from friends and family about columbia Omnitech gear. I'm a skier and recently went out to Colorado and this jacket held up to the reviews and kept me really warm. Only thing I'd say is about the armpit restriction; I'm a solid medium in most clothing and purchased a medium, it is a bit restricting but manageable. Love the jacket and can't wait for spring so I can wear the shell :)

I love this jacket so warm. I was going to buy the medium but after reading the reviews I decided to order the large and was glad that I did.

Quality, comfortable jacket. We buy this on for ice-skating. A lot of comfortable pockets. I"ll recommend it to my friends, who like winter sports
