Book Description

November 18, 2005
Marjorie Lindholm is a student at Arapahoe Community College in Littleton, Colorado. In 1999, she was a sophomore at Columbine High School. Originally from Idaho, she'd only been living in Littleton for a few months and had already made the cheerleading team. She was a bright, happy, teenage girl with big plans for the future.

On April 20, 1999, Dylan Klebold and Eric Harris, two seniors at Columbine High School, set out to destroy their school. Armed with makeshift bombs and high powered guns, the two teenagers entered the building during 5th period, lunch time for about one third of the school. They were intent on killing as many students and teachers as possible. While the students in Marjorie's class were taking a science test, Mr. Sanders, a beloved teacher, stumbled into the room and collapsed onto the floor. He was badly injured and bleeding profusely. Soon it was clear the school was under attack.

Marjorie spent the next 4 hours in that science room, frozen to the floor, afraid to move. She saw her life flash before her eyes. She watched as her favorite teacher slowly bled to death. In the end, 13 people were killed, 23 people were injured, and the 2 gunmen killed themselves. It shocked the nation. It changed Marjorie's life.

Along with her mother, Peggy Lindholm, Marjorie has written A Columbine Survivor's Story. This book chronicles Marjorie's experiences before, during, and after that day. It is a thought provoking account of one person's struggle with the most traumatic event in her life.

4.0 out of 5 stars Very moving..., July 17, 2006
This review is from: A Columbine Survivor's Story (Paperback)
I enjoyed this book .I liked the down to Earth writing style in which she related her story.I am always interested in hearing about peoples experiences at Columbine. To me the best part of the book was when Marjorie related personally seeing Dylan Klebold being picked on and harassed in the Halls at Columbine.
That first person account was very detailed, and touching and means so much to me.I also commend her for acknowledging the pain of E and D's families and expressing sympathy towards them.
I wish Marjorie a lot of luck and success in the future and I thank her and her Mother for sharing her story.

5.0 out of 5 stars This is an amazing book, July 18, 2006

Marjorie Lindholm takes you from this perfect little life where everything comes easy to a living hell. She was this golden girl cheerleader that had her whole life planned out until she got stuck in a classroom during the massacre at Columbine High School. Her story shows what happens to a person who never had to deal with hard knocks when they get sucker punched with something really horrible. She wants to be understood more than be liked because she is painfully honesty about stuff most people would hide. Great book if you are looking for real life, not some fairy tale with a happy ending and great moral.

5.0 out of 5 stars A Must Read!!, January 31, 2006
This review is from: A Columbine Survivor's Story (Paperback)
I read this book in just 2 days. I couldn't put it down. Marjorie tells her deepest thoughts, and I could relate. I've been through a traumatic experience, and I couldn't deal with it for the longest time, but eventually I came to terms with life. Reading her book put alot of things in perspective and made me feel like I'm not alone in the world. I'd recommend it to anybody who has had to deal with violence first hand. You'll see yourself in the pages.
