Ughhhhh,
By A Customer
This review is from: Comanche Flame (Leisure Historical Romance) (Mass Market Paperback)
This is by far the worst book of Madeline Baker. (Trust me I've read them ALL) The characters down right sucked. The Main man got another woman PREGANATE!!!! THAT DOESNT HAPEN IN TRUE LOVE STORIES! Lots of mindless sex. His "true love" should be yelling at him for cheating on her. THE BOOK IS A WASTE OF TIME. All of the other books of Madeline Baker are wonderful, I donāt know what happened with this one. DO NOT BUY THIS BOOK. I'm going to burn mine as I speak it was that aggravating and just bad.

Well at least I didn't spend money on this one I checked it out of the library. I ablsolutley hate it when the main hero has sex with another woman and gets her pregnat!! And then still confess to loving the heroine Bull****! And the heroine like lets him get away with it to boot she does nothing, says nothing to him that is totally unrealistic I could not even read the whole book through as soon as I read that the main hero was with another woman I pretty much gave up right there I did skim through the pages and let me tell you is just got worse I find out that the woman he was with turns out pregnat! I would give this book no stars if possible. Total Trash!

Comanche Flame (Leisure Historical Romance)
Excellent, but not all readers will appreciate it, obviously by the numerous negative reviews, so be forewarned. If you like fluff and stuff in your romance, bypass this one. Oh there is some fluff in the characterization of the heroine in the opening of the story. But a devastating situation occurs very early and we see how she deals with it, or actually doesn't, in the following chapters. As the story progresses, her immaturity and fears give way and we watch her evolve into a woman of substance, strength, bravery, and mature love. I admired her. If you like your characters alpha, virile, dangerous, raw, untamed, yet tender and complex as well as uncompromising...he simply is who he is without excuse, this book has him, his name is Dancer. When that character is paired with his exact opposite, it makes for interesting reading. This is the first book Ms. Baker wrote and it is outstanding. What an excellent job she did on it. Very, very minimal tired cliches and contrived situations in creating tension between the H/h. The ending is wonderfully uncompromising and stays true to the nature of both main characters. I highly recommend for the discriminating romance reader.

HATED IT!,

Like the other reviewers, it started out okay. Up into the part where he shacks up with another woman, and then gets her PREGNANT! The worst part is she was understanding and sympathetic!I would not be understanding, I would of felt a little better about the whole situation if she would have punished him in some kind of way, at least cussed him out or pimp slapped and didn't talk to him for the next century or so, but nooooo she had to forgive. Now Really, was she that hard up for a man. I was expecting happyendings in a fictional romance. Love the arthur, hate this book. One star for me, I'm trading this sucker in for a better read.

I have read a lot of her stuff and I had heard so many mixed reviews about Comanche Flame, now I must say I will read this book. I am studying to be a psychologist/counselor. I am finishing up my Master Degree and will begin my Education Doctorant Degree in September of 2011. I know many women will not agree but this situation described by it's readers can and have occured. You or I may not be forgiving. However, there are many women who would forgive a man even after he have created life with another woman. I also have spoken to people in situation like this whereas, the man went back to the woman he claimed to love with the new born child being in the picture. I want to say "Thank all of you" for your reviews because now I must read this book for myself. I have order this book and cannot wait to read this one. I have already began reading most of it on a freind Kindle and I would be able to rate this book on what I have already read and so far it make sense to me, coming from my background. I can also understand the reviews but a situation like this based on what I have read thus far has the potential to happen to anyone. Now, how you handle this situation would be the utlimate challenge.

I enjoyed reading this book many years ago and thought I'd like to listen to it in 2009. It was enjoyable and a worthy escapist fair.

If you have read one of her books you've read them all. This may be the only one on Amazon to have a low rating, but I think they all deserve it as they all have more or less the same story and the reader is told about the same Indian traits.

More exploitation of American Indians, sad to say,

This review is from: Comanche Flame (Leisure Historical Romance) (Mass Market Paperback)
Baker seems to use American Indian culture as filler between scenes of sex-sex-sex. It would be nice to see a writer really study Numuu (Comanche) culture before she tries to write about it, and I prefer to see heros and heroines make love to each other rather than other people. Can't recommend this one.
