3.0 out of 5 stars Bowie territory
Set in 1820s Texas, COMANCHE TERRITORY features frontiersman Jim Bowie.

After he's attacked by a band of Indians, Bowie (Carey) is rescued by ex-Congressman Dan'l Seeger (Geer), who's wounded in the shoulder during the fight. Bowie removes the bullet; both he and Seeger are captured by the Comanches. The straight-talking Bowie impresses an old Chief...

3.0 out of 5 stars Bowie territory, January 21, 2009
This review is from: Comanche Territory [VHS] (VHS Tape)
Set in 1820s Texas, COMANCHE TERRITORY features frontiersman Jim Bowie.

After he's attacked by a band of Indians, Bowie (Carey) is rescued by ex-Congressman Dan'l Seeger (Geer), who's wounded in the shoulder during the fight. Bowie removes the bullet; both he and Seeger are captured by the Comanches. The straight-talking Bowie impresses an old Chief (Cordoba) by explaining how to make his famous knife. The Comanches agree to a treaty renewal that would permit silver mining on tribal land. Bowie and Seeger must then go up against bank and saloon owner Katie Howard (O'Hara), who Dan'l believes wounded him and stole the treaty papers.

As of 1/09, "Comanche Territory" was not available on DVD.

4.0 out of 5 stars I USUALLY HATE WESTERNS!, September 5, 1999

I usually hate Westerns, but I love this film! Maureen O'Hara is as feisty as ever. The only sad part is knowing that Jim Bowie dies in real life!

This movie was filmed in Sedona AZ which has grown somewhat since 1950 but the scenery is almost as beautiful now as it was then!
