COMBAT! THE BEST OF THE COLOR EPSODES is the only DVD of this TV series to buy if you have limited time to watch these old classics. I would have rated it five stars if the Episodes had not included, Entombed. This episode is just not believable for me because my dad fought the Germans in WWII. Their officers would not have agreed to a temporary truce and that is the basis of this one story.

VERY GOOD PICTURE QUALITY. BROUGHT BACK CHILDHOOD MEMORIES AS THIS WAS MY FAVORITE TV SHOW. VERY GOOD PRICE.

IF YOU LIKE COMBAT YOU MUST TRY TO SEE EVERY AVAILABLE EPISODE IN COLOR. IT COMES ALIVE! DONT MISS THEM. MAKES A DIFFERENCE

I don't know why Amazon appears to show me as owning this DVD; I DO NOT.

I do own the first four seasons of Combat! They are in Black and White. I'll probably wind up buying this, cuz I love the series. But being about WW II, it seems to lene itself more to B&W than color. So for whatever reason, I just didn't feel as moved to buy the last (in color) season.

But all in all, I highly recommend the entire series. I saw them all as a kid, and a few years back, The History Channel broadcast all of them, and this was before they had come out on DVD. I really appreciated seeing them again, and it was something I just had to own. WW II was the last really NECESSARY war the U.S. has fought, and the men and women who served deserve our undying gratitude.

If you are a fan of WW II media, you should get this. If you are younger than a "Baby Boomer", you NEED to see these, whether you buy them here or not.

Four fantastic COMBAT episodes in glorious colour!
Yes the black and white episodes are gritty,fantastic and terrific.
However the colour episodes represented on this dvd are worth a definite viewing!
The standout episode is HEADCOUNT where the squad have to transport a horde of captured German soldiers back to the American lines.
Jan Merlin is outstanding as the leader of the Germans and the squad are under constant pressure as the prisoners try every trick in the book in an attempt to escape.
Also THE BROTHERS with fine acting by Sal Mineo is a must see!
Buy this dvd and then maybe buy the entire series!
