I ordered this hovercraft for a university project, but I'm still a kid at heart. When I first unwrapped and assembled the hovercraft, I was disappointed to see how the previous review was right and that the hovercraft did not accelerate, even on hardwood floor. However, after charging the hovercraft's battery and buying a new 9V battery for the controller (remember, this product is made in china), it worked spectacularly! It spun and drove on the hardwood floor with ease. This hovercraft is not meant to be used on carpet since the skirt is made of rubber, causing lots of friction between it and the carpet. All the components work wonderfully, it's just not available for use right out of the box.

Neat concept, but very poor quality. The lift fan is junk. You will never be able to work this hovercraft on anything but very smooth concrete or smooth water for a very limited time. 3-4 minutes. The lift fan is the key to the whole unit. If it were anything like the propeller units on the back you would really have a fun toy. I wasted my money and my son was very dissapointed.

My 8-year old son has begged for a hovercraft for years. Santa gave in and we now own this model. The reviews I read were correct: it doesn't work on snow, it may work on perfectly smooth ice, it doesn't work on carpet. It does work on hardwood floors and smooth concrete. It does work on water if it's calm water, no waves or wind...but don't allow it to get out of remote control range. It's very noisy. It takes a long time to recharge and runs for a short while. Be careful not to puncture the airbags. Not worth the money in my opinion, but my son loves it.
