Product Description

Amazon.com Product Description

In 1977, Atari unveiled its revolutionary Atari 2600 game console. One of the first titles for the 2600 was the battle game Combat, which quickly became a classic. To this day, aficionados of early video games cherish their Combat cartridges.

Twenty-four years later, Magic Lantern Playware, in conjunction with Infogrames Entertainment, is proud to bring the classic back to life in full state-of-the-art 3-D.

This update lets you pilot your own high-speed hover tank in a range of lush 3-D environments, battle against a variety of diabolical computer enemies, or fight against your friends in multiplayer matches. However you play it, Combat rides again on a wave of full-bore excitement.

5.0 out of 5 stars A Cool Tank Battle Game, February 24, 2007
= Fun:5.0 out of 5 stars
This review is from: Combat (CD-ROM)
Take a trip back in time with this exciting tank warfare game which is based on the early "Combat" game from Atari. The installation process is somewhat lenghy, so be prepared to spend a little time putting the game into your computer system.

Once the game is loaded and you begin playing, you'll be amazed at how good the graphics are. No longer are there little squares representing the tanks. Rather, they have been replaced by high-tech hover tanks that pack quite a punch with their powerful guns. The user can play by controlling the tank with the keyboard or a joystick. The combat sequences are very realistic, and the game offers three different styles of tanks to choose from. The original Combat game is included as well for those of you who want to remember the old Atari 2600 days. The game is designed for both single and multiple players.

I highly recommend this great game. The graphics will draw you in, and the great battles will keep you hooked. Play Combat and enjoy some real tank warfare at its best.
