3.0 out of 5 stars Semper Fi, November 29, 2000

This review is from: Combat Vietnam:Air Power/Marines [VHS] (VHS Tape)
The first half of the film illustrates how important the air support was in the battle of Khe Sanh. I found it to be interesting how supplies and fire power was used by these planes. It was fascinating how the US held off the NVA, which out numbered the marines by 6:1. The second half is early footage of the war (1965) with the marines seaching for the Viet Cong, which I didn't find as interesting. The tape is old government footage, a bit of propaganda, but still very informative. I would recommend this to anyone who is curious about the marines' role in the Vietnam war.

What is the Diferrce between" Battle of Khe Sanh"and "Battle of Dien Bien Phu" ?
In 1946, Ho Chi Minh declared Indochina's Independece from France.Even Large scaled military

they wanteded cutting Ho Chi Minh supply line. They coldn't withstand overwhelming cannons including
AAA. After Accurate fire down shooting from surrounding highgher mountains and repeated Infantry
Attack from Infantry, after 2m. of Deffense,CO.col.Castries and Frnch Garrison Surrenderd.
On the ather hand, 1967.US Commanders decided High Plateau of Noth West area of S.Vietnam near
the demarkation of N.& S.vietnam.They made Air Strip incase of emergency Air Lift.and they controlled
Route 9 for trasportation ofsuply and enforcement. At that time, Gen. Westmoreland orderd Reinforcement and Deffnse.
There was the informations,Concentration of N.Vietnamese 325,424 and 320 th.Div.near the Khe SANH.
After Ambush of Route 9, they started repeated Infantry Attacks under Heavy cannon fire at Base
was Accurate with many Marine's casualties and Burrning many transport cargo,US decied profound
Bombiing with F-4C/D Air Supprting bombiing and strafing and other Attackers. In addition to this,
massive high altitued B-52Stratofotress, repeated bombing disintegrate the 4 Division(Add.304 Div.)
After, high casualties, N.vietnamese army Withdrawal operation complited.
Anather half of "Marines in Battle, just Reviewed US Marines Battle was just like the routine
procedures of Marines.including Search and Destroy operations and seeking Vietkons during 1st part of
Vietnam War.
