Written in 1960, it is police-oriented and concerns itself only with the revolver, primarily the .38spl and .357mag. Police semi-autos weren't yet on the scene.

But it is quite detailed, especially on point shooting. It makes a useful supplement to modern combat shooting books, and belongs in the handgun-carrier's library.

This is one of the practical books on policing from publisher Charles C. Thomas. Still in business, apparently, Thomas released many important about law enforcement in the 20th century, including their classic and long-selling book Surviving the Street.

Here we have a wonderful vintage book from 1960 which though dated in some respects ("gimme your gun, copper"), is loaded with detailed and useful information. The blurb tells us...
