4.0 out of 5 stars information to learn from, November 20, 2005
This review is from: Combatives (Paperback)
This was a great book to read and the information here is pretty straight forward. This book deals with close quarters hand to hand combat. This book will teach you certain pressure points, joint manipulation & locks, precise places to hit the human body & throws. This book will also show you knife & gun disarms which could save your life someday. If you don't know much about the world of military combatives this would be the book to get. Some of the material seems to be outdated and the copyright on it seemed older. This is the reason I did not give it 5 stars. We all need to remember that violence in the streets or at the workplace is very common these days. You need to be prepared with some form of self defense and you'll get it with this book.

5.0 out of 5 stars Get this plus more and videos on a CD for $7.99 at USBJJ.COM,, February 15, 2006

This review is from: Combatives (Paperback)
This is a great start to learning Brazilian Jujitsu and other self defense techniques. Using the Military's KISS mantra (keep it simple stupid!) the Army has managed to produce something very worthwhile. For the same price you can get this book and the prior version with more stand-up traditional jujitsu and judo, wrestling and 105 short videos on a CD at USBJJ.COM. And then you can print out the pages you need to take to train and not worry about lugging around a 300 page book or mashing the pages
