This Combi teether (8 month) is a sturdy well-made toy in nice, modern, colors, and is BPA-free too. It's surprisingly lightweight, allows you to thread a pacifier-holder ribbon through so it doesn't drop on the floor and comes in a clear, hard-plastic 'bubble' for keeping it clean..and that's where the positives end. The teether is advertised as being made especially great for back teeth/emerging molars, but the four 'tabs' that stick out are far too short to reach! My then-9-month old tried in vain to jam it in his mouth to alleviate his teething pain, but it just didn't reach. In addition, only 2 of the 4 pieces that jut out are even usable! I have absolutely no idea why the design team put the 2 'support pillars' right under 2 of the tabs instead of strategically placed in between them, but that automatically cancels out their effectiveness as they barely have room to be nibbled on with front teeth! DESIGN FAIL! Even now at 14 months, he'll occasionally give the teether another shot but I can almost see the disgust in his eyes when he quickly realizes it's a sham. The rattle too is a joke. The few miniscule beads in the underside are barely loud enough to make noise, let alone entertain/distract a child; something I look for in toys because one toy that does at least two jobs is a godsend to parents who need to `buy a little time' and keep a baby entertained just a bit longer..
A re-design would definitely help this teether accomplish what it set out to do-- calm molars in an effective way while looking good at the same time!

I have no clue how this even qualifies as a teether. Do not buy it there is nothing for my little one to rub his gums on.

This alien looking teether is the best you can ever have. I have been in the market for a good looking, effective teether and I must say that the technology behind these Combi teether series from Stages 1 through 3 is what sets them apart from all the other teethers out there. Each stage was made for your baby's developmental needs not to mention that its inovative Japanese designs and cases are really cool!

What would we have done without this? When my son was 7-9 months, we'd strap it to him like a pacifer when we went out. He's never been a paci baby, always a biter. So good for teething little ones. By 10-11 months he was over it, but he was onto cutting molars then, and this must not reach back that far. It was so soothing for him, and it's dishwasherable.

my son won't use it. i bought this when my son started teething molars, it seems to be made of good sturdy materials but he just won't chew on it. however he won't chew on ANYTHING but his fingers! i think it'd be better for a pacifier user since they're used to this type of thing in the mouth but he stopped using a pacifier at 6 months.

I bought this when my daughter was about 6 months, over a year ago. Through this entire time she was never interested in it. It's a good idea, but just didn't work for me. She uses it occasionally as a light rattle. That's all.

My daughter did not like this at all. I tried to get her to use it, but she refused. She fed it to the dog- who loved it, however!

Baby loves this teether. He can't turn it around like a pacifier and munch on it (scary) but he still gets plenty of gnawing done.

I got this for my son when he was about 10 months old. He loved it!! My only regret was that I didn't get it sooner!

my son couldnt care less about this teether. he likes the giraffe one much better....so lesson learned. He uses it more to throw at things than to chew on. If you buy this it could go either way.
