Very Good stroller except for the CHEAP WHEELS!,
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Combi Cosmo DX Lightweight Stroller in Malibu (Baby Product)
I bought this back in late January, 2008 and have had mixed results. Reading the other reviews, here are my thoughts after 5 months of use..."My daughter is only 27 pounds and I have to use both hands to push otherwise I can't steer straight and run in to things/people," I have not encountered this problem at all. The stroller pushes easily. My son loves pushing it himself. My son turns 2 tomorrow, and can easily push his 60 pound sister when she climbs into the stroller. (Stroller is not meant to hold that much weight, so don't let heavier children do this!) "have a hard time moving the stroller from a stopped position to maneuver around corners slowly (such as shopping in a mall store or getting on and off elevators)" Yes, I have this problem - that's because the front wheels are damaged! That's my biggest complaint, the front wheels easily damage when folding this stroller. I have to replace the front wheels as we speak! "and the bottom basket is completely useless." There's about enough room to place your child's lightweight jacket in the basket - convenient when shopping, but the basket can't hold much else. And yes, it is very inconvenient to access. "Also, I have the hardest time getting over cracks in sidewalks if the surface difference is more than an inch--the stroller comes to a whip-lash type stop and then I have to raise the front wheels over it" Guess I'm just used to tilting strollers, but haven't had any problems with cracks in the sidewalk. However, my stroller has had a few problems pushing as the cheap plastic wheel casings cracked, thus the wheeels wobble, rather than roll smoothly. I'm afraid the will completely break off soon, thus the need to replace the wheels. The wheels should last longer than 5 months of light use. "Forget strollering on grass or anything uneven" My soon to be 2 year old son has no problems pushing the stroller in the grass - that is until the front wheels cracked. Now it is a problem, hence the need to replaced the front wheels (both sides) "Don't forget...no cup holder for mom--so try not to spill your coffee while struggling to push through the mall--and no snack tray for baby either." I'm sorry, but anyone looking at the photo of the stroller or reading the description can easily see this. If the cup holder/snack tray are that important to you, then don't purchase this stroller! "and you think you'll be carrying the stroller on your back with the tri-fold option" VERY convenient for those who live in apartments and must carry the stroller up and down several flights of stairs on a daily basis. One word of caution. Unless you are about 6' tall, this stroller will bang on each step if carrying on your back, as you walk down stairs. The full recline feature is GREAT!! My son can easily nap in the stroller while shopping, relaxing in the park, etc. Even put him in the stroller at night sometimes when he's fussy. Walk him around the apartment in the recline position and in a few minutes he's fast asleep. Overall, I give it 3 stars. I would have rated it higher if the wheels were higher quality. The wheel casing should not have cracked so quickly.

Alot of pros-Big Cons!,
By The boys mom (Michigan) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Combi Cosmo DX Lightweight Stroller (Baby Product)
This stroller has many pros but Im not sure if the pros will out weigh the cons. I originally posted a better review of this stroller, but I felt obliged to edit it. I love this stroller for its lightweightness(if that's a word) and convenience. Also, I love that it reclines very easily unlike some expensive European stollers we looked at. I love that once it is folded how compact it is. And that it stands up on its own, YEAH! I love the strap in the back and that you can just throw it over your shoulder like those compact lawn chairs, and carry the baby on a different or same arm. I also, like that I dont bump my feet on the back of the stroller while walking because the bar is high enough for me(average height) and my taller husband. I also love the style, I bought the Wasabi, because with my daughter I didnt want something too girlie girl, this was perfect!Ok, so now for the cons... I do have to say that I dont like the way it folds, I do agree with another reviewer that stated that it should have a one hand fold. I also, HATE the wheels. It is very hard to manuever and I get really frustrating trying to push it with one hand-its impossible! I also do not like the brakes, you are unable to place the locks on with your foot you have to bend over and do it with your hand, which can be very annoying. I hope this review helped. Like I said the stroller has a lot of pros but for me personally the cons are outweighing the pros and I think Im gonna look for something else.

Great lightweight stroller!,

Before a trip to San Francisco, I began the hunt for a lightweight stroller that would work in the airport and walking the streets of San Fran. I tried out many strollers but decided on this one because:1. REALLY lightweight. Some "lightweight" strollers were still fairly heavy. 2. Fully reclines. In case we were out and about during nap time, I knew my daughter may be able to still catch some zzzzz. 3. Folds up easily and fairly compact. Must use 2 hands though. 4. Can be used with a car seat. If I had known this, I would have bypassed the Snap N Go and just bought this from the beginning! 5. Great for tall folks. I'm 5'9 and my husband is 6 so I knew we needed something that would accomodate taller heights. Draw backs: 1. The basket. This never bothered me because I hang my diaper bag off of the back of the stroller anyway. 2. No cup holder or any fancy extras for the parents. There is a cup holder for the child. Overall, I LOVE this stroller.

Good Lightweight Stroller,

This review is from: Combi Cosmo 2010 Lightweight Stroller, Jade (Baby Product)
I have owned this stroller for about 6 months. I wanted a lightweight alternative to my full-sized travel system stroller. The stroller specs and photos clearly show no parent tray, small sunshade, and tiny storage basket, but I fixed these problems easily with an aftermarket sunshade and cup holder and a clip-on diaper bag. What I like: *Compact fold. With a little practice, it's quick and simple to fold and fits easily into my hatch with room to spare. It also stands alone when folded so it's great for travel. *Child cup holder and snack cup. This is the only compact-fold stroller on the market with a built-in snack cup and cup holder - an awesome feature. *Easy steering and maneuvering. I haven't had any major issues with steering either indoors or outdoors, even on grass or through snow. *High weight capacity. This stroller is rated up to 55 lbs, so we will outgrow it long before we reach the maximum capacity. I tested it once by pushing my 40 lb 6-year-old around in it! *Seat cover removes easily. To remove the seat cover for washing on my full-sized Graco, I need a screwdriver and lots of patience. *Full recline - perfect for a nap or bottle on the go. What I don't like: *Wheel locks. The back wheel locks are stiff and difficult to unlock with my foot, especially if I'm wearing sandals. The front locks are small so they have to be locked and unlocked manually. I don't like touching the dirty wheels with my hands. Also, the manufacturer states the front wheel locks must be engaged before folding the Cosmo or you could damage the wheels. I've gotten used to locking them before I fold the stroller but I still don't like it. *Bulky seatbelt buckle. Though my 10 month old doesn't complain, I would have preferred a cloth crotch strap with plastic buckles on the sides like my Graco to the large central plastic buckle on the Cosmo. Overall, I'm happy with my purchase. I would buy this stroller again and I would recommend it to others.

Flimsy and really cheap wheels.,

This review is from: Combi Cosmo DX Lightweight Stroller (Baby Product)
I agree with the other posts that it is extremely difficult to steer. It is being used for a lightweight one year old and yet it still difficult to maneuver. The front wheels buckle easily and unless you have momentum they do not roll over anything except very smooth pavement. Even minor seams in pavement can stop it and make you have to lift the front wheels in order to get over it. If you ever want to use it off of pavement forget it. We got it back in nov. 2008 and two of the front four wheels are already broken. It does fold up rather small, but it requires both hands and takes time as the wheels have to be just right in order to fold it. Also the basket must be completely empty prior to folding it up even in half. This just adds more time to folding it up when you really just want to throw it into the back of the car.We inherited an old cheap umbrella stroller that works just as well, folds up smaller and is much more solid. The only part that is better with the Combi stroller is that the handle is higher up making it easier on the back.

The Combi is an excellent stroller. It is lightweight but not small. It can accomodate children of varying sizes. The build quality is also very good. Some other reviewer mentioning the bad wheels must be driving nascar style. For normal use the wheels are built just fine. The shoulder strap is very comfortable. The seat height is also perfect for feeding or entertaining your baby when on the go.My only complain is that I wish it was easier to fold and unfold with one hand. My wife traveled with it alone and it was really hard to fold unfold while holding the baby, a diaper bag and a knapsack. And, you have to fold unfold it to go through security as it needs to go through the scanner. If there is someone else to help out it is not an issue. Hope this helps

My favorite stroller!,

This review is from: Combi Cosmo 2010 Lightweight Stroller, Sand (Baby Product)
I search and search baby strollers before purchasing this one. I love love love it. Although its not perfect (what baby stroller is) its pretty darn close. Lets just jump right into it.Pros: `LIGHTWEIGHT! this was a big deal for me! `Compact! One of the smallest folding double strollers on the market and its easy to do! `Holds up to 45 pounds `Seats are padded and comfy. Some of the strollers I looked at had tiny seats! `Snack try and cup holder `Bumper bar `Full recline `5-point harness can be made to 3-point `Carrying strap `Basket `Peek-a-boo window `Can be made into a travel system Cons: `basket is tiny. `no parent cup holder So as you can see the pros definantly outweigh the cons. For me it was the perfect stroller. Loved it so much I bought two! These are great for my two kids because they don't take up so much room in the trunk so I have room for all my other stuff! I have a huge diaper bag that I hang over the handle so I dont use the basket much. I also use the pocket located on the back of the stroller for my keys and drink. Im a mom to a 10 month old and 2 1/2 year old. I used this as a travel system and now just use the stroller. I really don't think you will regret getting this stroller but I would suggest purchasing from Babies r us or walmart online (yes walmart!) so you can return it without paying return shipping if you don't like it. And this way you kind of get to get a feel for the stroller at home before making a permanent decision. Hope this was helpful! `

Wouldn't do it again,

I'm not exactly sure what some of the others were using but after three kids and about 7 different strollers this by far was the worst. We had my 5 year old sit in the stroller at the store and it worked fine then. It is completely different on the real streets of Queens, NY. I went shopping with my impatient hubby who says "a stroller is a stroller" , so not true. Yes it is compact but it takes a few tries to close it. We purchased this because the carseat attached to it. That was another nightmare. It takes so many tries to get it to attach after all those attempts your sleeping baby is now awake. There is cheap plastic on both sides of the stroller that you snap the carseat into. It becomes so hard to line up once the baby weighs about 12 lbs. The carseat itself is very heavy. So happy he outgrew it. Yes, my 9 year old can move it but it is not easy. You definitly need 2 hands to push. Since he can soon foward face in a carseat we are now shopping for a new stroller (dad will stay home this time). One with all the important features like large basket, one hand turning and closing, Parent and child tray. You don't realize how much you need that until its not there. If you need a stroller just for shopping in the mall or on other smooth surfaces it should be ok. But if you are using it everyday you probably won't be too happy. Good Luck.

Terrible terrible stroller!,

This review is from: Combi Cosmo DX Lightweight Stroller (Baby Product)
This stroller is impossible to steer. The wheels turn independently and end up pointing in all different directions. Impossible to steer with one hand, very difficult with two-this is empty. If you actually put a child in it (mine is 30 lbs) it is impossible to steer in any condition. The basket is ridiculously small and inaccessible. If my kid leans just a little bit to one side, the entire stroller starts leaning over. It's really flimsy. Waste of money and useless stroller. Extremely disappointed! I hope I can save someone money with this review...I will feel a little better ... maybe my purpose in buying this stroller is to stop a whole bunch of other people from buying it.
