Combi Deluxe Activity Rocker

I cannot say enough nice things about this rocker - it has been a life saver. I ended up having an emergency c-section, so I was unable to climb the stairs to my and the baby's bedrooms, so he slept in this rocker (the back of the seat goes down) as a bassinet on the floor right next to me on the couch. Now that he is more aware of life around him, we lift the seat into the chair position and he just has the best time watching everything that is going on. The fact that it rocks and has the vibrating motion has also been extremely valuable. He has spent so much time in this chair - I am very happy that I got this as a gift. It's also great that you can hook a CD player or tape player up to the speakers as well.

CONS

1. It's not colorful enough.

2. The visor is very very loud when is being raised or lowered, thus waking my kid up or startles it.

3. Folds flat, but does not hold it in this position.

PROS

A. Love the fact that I can actually rock it with my foot while I am eating.

B. Folds flat!

C. The vibration is great.

D. The toys are on velcro, so you can change them around or even put new ones on.

At first, when we first brought home our son, he didn't seem to like this chair. But a couple of weeks later, its a godsend. During the day he'll space out or fall asleep in it, due to the vibration and comfort. It helps my sanity, so I can do other things.

There are a few downsides to the chair. It doesn't auto-rock. You have to rock it manually. The colors are muted and neutral, but my son doesn't seem to care. We dont use the harness, and can't really see where it would come in handy yet.

Benefits include...the toys on the toy bar are removable and you can put on other toys you want (including more colorful ones!). When on fast vibrate, the chair seems to rock itself. It puts my son to sleep.

I would buy this again.

After giving away my Ocean Aquarium bouncy seat (and everything else) after my daughter grew out of it- I was thrilled to register for this "top of the line" combi rocker. I ALWAYS DO THIS! I want all of the most expensive things-but I wind up regretting most of them after I have the chance to use them. Although very comfy and cozy, the harness on the rocker is VERY cumbersome- especially for a new mom. Lets review the steps to fastening the harness: 1- unclip both shoulder straps from the buckle. 2- unfasten velcro padding from buckle 3- unclip two side clips...4 then put your baby in. 5 reposition the crotch harnesss between baby's legs-6 clip in the 2 side clips-7 fit the velcro padding over the crotch harness- making sure the hooks for the shoulder straps are positioned correctly under the padding. 8 clip 2 shoulder straps into the crotch harness. OMG! I am all for safety and security, but this process is more complex than the car seat safety system! The range of motion for the rocker is slight to say the least. YES- it does recline fully, but do you want your baby strapped in to a seat to sleep at night? Nevertheless, after my longwinded rant of disappointment, I am returning the $80 rocker and repurchasing the Ocean Wonders bouncy seat- giving me $40 to spend on somthing worthwhile- DIAPERS! I hope you find this review helpful- even though it didnt get great reviews, my thought process of "the more expensive-the better" won on this product- now I have to make the trip to return it-

After we bought the Ocean Wonders bouncer and hated it, we bought this one. We've only had it for 2 days now, but it's been great so far. It has all the features of a stroller built into a rocker. The seat back has 3 positions--you can lay your baby all the way back or sit it up in a comfortable reclining position. My daughter has not had one crying fit since being in this rocker. It is very plush and comfortable, and she doesn't look awkward in it at all. She'll even fall asleep in it with out being rocked! My only fault with it is it's boring color scheme. But you can take the toys off the toy bar and put more colorful ones on (the toys that come w/ the rocker are secured with velcro and are easy to remove). Also I really stink at putting things together but I was able to assemble it right out of the box as there is no hardware and it's pretty obvious where the toy bar, and canopy go. This is a realy great product right from newborn to one year!

I'm shocked at some of the reviews given for this bouncer.

Well, you do get what you paid for. The seat is made out of a soft supple leather like (it may be real leather) material. I am 34 years old and my house is very neat with nice furniture and I really wanted something neutral for matching but also comfortable for my newborn, nothing wild and ugly that didn't match. I'm now over the matching part because my son now has different needs. But, he sleeps better in this then he does his portable bassinet or his crib.

If your child is older I say try the Fisher Price Soothing Vibrations. I just purchased for my son who is now 10 1/2 weeks old. I am here on my computer and right beside me are both of his bouncers. Earlier today he was in his Fisher Price seat, playing, happy but as you all know, they do sleep a bit and the Fisher Price is just too uncomfortable for him to sleep, he cries and his head's all out of wack. I swapped him to the Combi where he can sit in this nice cushioned luxury seat and sleeps literally, like a baby.

Since the day he came home from the hospital he has always slept well in this and I'm sorry to sound mean but unless you have a super child at 4 weeks old, I don't hardly think he will be needing all of the gizmos/toys and bright colors. Not until my son reached 8 weeks did he really start to care what he could play with. Each kid is different as is each bouncer.

Just didn't seem fair this was getting a bad wrap because it's very nice. It's so nice that when my son had jaundice for 10 days after birth that we used the billy blanket and he slept with the billy blanket wrapped around him in this bouncer.

My best advice is to go to a Babies R Us, find the one you think will suit your needs. Most of these bouncers/rockers are in the store and will give you an idea of what you want. If your baby is unborn, I don't really think you know what is right until your bundle of joy greets the world. Each one has different needs and wants.

We had the Link a Doo one by fisher price and I loved it. When it stopped vibrating I needed a new bouncy seat for my then 3 month old son. When I went in search of a new bouncy seat I found this one along with many other ones in the store. This seat is great I have a big baby and wanted a seat that would grow with him and still be safe to use when he was 20+ pounds. It does fold almost completely flat and is very easy to travel with compared to the other models that don't even collapse once you put them together. We have used this in the middle of the night when the baby had a stuffy nose and needed to be elevated, during the day when I need to get house work done, and it works great as a foot rest while you are nursing. It slides easily across carpet and tile floors so you can move it with you as you move from room to room. It also has a great wide base feature my son is a wiggle worm and this chair is great at not tipping over. Over all am very happy with this seat and would recommend it especially if you have a big baby. My son is now eight months old and we are getting ready for another vacation and this seat will once again be going with us. Every baby is different some want to sit and watch some want to be held all the time. This seat has worked great for my family.

Our son is only 3weeks old and so far the rocker is working great. I love how there are different levels for the backrest and footrest...this will allow for him to see around him as he grows. I also like the canopy since he is in lighted rooms a lot. The size of the seat is both a pro and con...I love that he can comfortably sit in the rocker and it will be plenty big for him over the next year. BUT, since I had a C-section I can't lift much and the seat is kind of bulky. Other than that I have loved it so far!

My son loves this chair!! He looks so comfortable in it!! Plus it's bigger than other chairs, so he can use it for awhile! We've been using it since day one. In fact, he slept in it proabably the first week we brought him home! We are definately getting our use out of this chair.

For the first few months, that's pretty much all he sat in. We used the bar to drag it everywhere around the house. It made it easy to take from room to room. I take him in the bathroom while I'm taking a shower, or in the kitchen when I'm cooking. The toys are a little boring, by my son loves them. Plus, you can remove them, and attach other toys!

4 stars because my 3 month old loves it! I checked out all of the other bouncers at babies-r-us, this was the sturdiest and most versatile. It either rocks or is kept in place when you turn the back legs out. I used the reclined position when my baby was an infant and now that she's 3 months I moved it to the middle position so she is up-right. I switched the toys out even though my baby liked the teddy bear. She enjoys the higher contrast toys I replaced them with even more. I use link-a-doos to bring the toys closer to her(she can put them in her mouth if she wants). It's probably not recommended but I use the lap buckles only and tuck the shoulder straps up into the visor part. Caution-the buckles click in quick and harsh. Watch your and your baby's fingers when fastening and unfastening. The visor is loud when you change its position(try to remember to move it before you place your baby in it(I forget sometimes too). I guess if you don't mind working around the cons then this is the bouncer for you. One more thing, so far the vibration part hasn't broken. I've replaced the batteries one time in 3 months and we use the bouncer every day (not on high as much though). The vibrating will work intermittently when the batteries get low. My baby really enjoys being in it and is getting a lot of use out of it. There are the cons with this bouncer that is why I rated it as a 4 and not a perfect 5.
