This review is from: Combi Shuttle Car Seat - Ember (Baby Product)
This is a horrible little seat.
Its lightweight, yes. That's about the only pro. The fabric feels cheap and is rough. The plastic is cheap. The buckles are hard to fasten and its near impossible to get it in and out of its base (so hard that it killed my wrists and even my husband had a hard time getting it in and out. This loosened up a little with time, but not enough.) Sometimes it took tons of effort to even get snapped properly into the base, and we'd get to our destination to find that the seat hadn't even snapped in all the way! On top of everything? There was no way this seat was fitting snugly into my vehicle (2001 Ford F150 crew cab.) Since moving on from this junk we have used both a Graco Snugride32 and an Evenflo Symphony, both of which fasted into my vehicle correctly and snugly with very little movement. The Shuttle, however, rocked back and forth very loosely and no matter how hard we tried or what configuration we tried it would just not fasten any more solidly. I honestly was afraid for my daughter's safety when she was in it...hence our purchase of the Snugride32. It does not fit onto shopping carts well, either. The Snugride will snap onto a cart pretty well but the Shuttle just sort of perches precariously unless we set it down inside the cart itself, which was pointless as there was then no room for groceries or other shopping. It also does not come with an infant headrest, this had to be purchased separately so that my daughter's head didn't go flopping around like a bobble-head dog. It is very narrow, my daughter was barely able to move in it. The "rebound bar" is useless in both that it doesn't even touch the backseat of my truck AND it blocks my daughter's feet from being able to stretch out. (She's a big kid!) Don't waste your money on this thing. If you're insistent on a carrier, buy a Snugride from Graco. Frankly, however, just get a good convertible car seat and be done with it. Don't even give this deathtrap a second thought.
