Book Description

January 1995 1563471833 978-1563471834
Since the invention of the V-2 rocket during World War II, combustion instabilities have been recognized as one of the most difficult problems in the development of liquid propellant rocket engines. This book is the first published in the United States on the subject since NASA's Liquid Rocket Combustion Instability (NASA SP-194) in 1972. In this book, experts cover four major subject areas: engine phenomenology and case studies, fundamental mechanisms of combustion instability, combustion instability analysis, and engine and component testing. Especially noteworthy is the inclusion of technical information from Russia and China--a first.

5.0 out of 5 stars A Wonderfully Informative Book!, July 2, 2001
By
Justin Pucci (Phoenix, AZ USA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Liquid Rocket Engine Combustion Instability (Progress in Astronautics and Aeronautics) (Hardcover)
This book is a great reference for anyone interested in combustion instability in liquid rocket engines. It provides tons of information on atomization, sprays, injector design, analysis and simulation of instabilities, and methods of active and passive control. However, this book is definitely written with the advanced reader/scholar in mind. You should have a good understanding of rocket combustion processes and acoustics. If you are not that experienced though, try it out anyway! This book is definitely the best existing resource on this topic! Five stars!

5.0 out of 5 stars Enlarge knowledge about LRE combustion Instability, November 8, 2000
By A Customer
This review is from: Liquid Rocket Engine Combustion Instability (Progress in Astronautics and Aeronautics) (Hardcover)
Actually this is not for a beginner to study instability. But, if you are a ROCKETEER, and if you want to know much more about liquid rocket engin combustion instability, TRY TO READ THIS ONE. Instability problem in liquid rocket engine is very important. you NEVER pass by this problem. If you have the knowledge of atomization and combustion process, it will help your reading.
