Adopted as a child, Frankie Holt has been abused by her adoptive parents, while the Holts' natural daughter, Shannon, is showered with expensive clothes and gifts. No wonder Frankie is resentful--and determined to find her birth mother. Frustrated by the fruitless search, however, Frankie decides to seek revenge, with her sister, Shannon, just her first target. Only Martin Webb, a young man with dreams of joining the police force, seems to understand that Frankie is a bomb waiting to explode. Taut, dark, and nail-bitingly suspenseful, this story is fiendishly clever and packed full of unexpected twists and turns.
