A Classic Gothic Romance,

I found this book on a clearance rack of nostalgic paperbacks at my local Half Price Books. I mainly bought it based on the cover art and I was not disappointed. If you are a fan of classic gothic romance a la Victoria Holt, then you will love this book. The heroine is independent and determined and the castle is grim and mysterious. It is a quick read both in terms of the length and the fact that it is a page turner. I am now searching for all of Beatrice Parker's books!

I read this book a long time ago and was delighted to find a copy of it in a used book store. It is a Gothic in the true sense of the word. A castle on the moors, a dark hero, and a heroine in peril. But, there were no TSTL moments and the romance between Burton and Katharine, while being tame compared to today's romance novels, is nothing short of combustible.
Do yourselves a favor and find a copy of this book. It is great.
