4.0 out of 5 stars Another Slab..........., December 2, 2010

This review is from: Come Death (Audio CD)
....of brutal Thrash/Death metal from BRT. Very surprised no reviews for this. These guys blow away 80% of the American Death Metal bands at their own game. Very 'American' in sound and just plain brutal. Remnants of the very strong late 80's/early 90's Florida Death Metal scene.

I wont bore with track breakdowns as it hardly matters. But will say, compared to their older material, this one is a huge step forward in terms of sound quality and focus. There are good tempo changes and mid paced sections within the tracks that are a refreshing break from the otherwise brutal assault of this disc. There is a thick groove and the Vocals are deep-guttural, but have some nice screeching screams thrown in for good measure. Memorable riffs, and good chord progressions in some of the sections as well. These guys are good at what they do. I mean just listen to the riffs and tempo changes on a track like 'Rebirth In Blood'. Not to mention the vocal stampede. They keep it interesting.

Nothing groundbreaking here, but well done again by this under-rated Thrash/DM band. They have improved dramatically through the years without budging an inch in terms of their genre and direction. If you liked anything by them before, I highly recommend this as well as their latest, 'Souls of Damnation'.

Too bad I seem to be alone at the moment..
