From Booklist
Vivianne has fled a scandal back home in Miami and hopes to remain anonymous as part of a tour group in the romantic city of Venice. She successfully defended herself against charges of sexual harassment brought against her by jealous male colleagues, who resented her powerful position in a nonprofit organization, but the unfounded charges made her seem like a tabloid bad girl. When her purse is stolen, however, she is brought into the spotlight. Sage Medino, another member of the tour group, comes to her rescue, and he, too, has something to hide: he left the FBI because of false allegations. More dangerous incidents occur, and Vivianne not only comes to depend on Sage for help but she also reveals her true identity. But as the trip ends, so must the romance, or can it survive a bicoastal relationship, with Vivianne in Miami and Sage in California? It is fun to watch this pair work things out in King-Gamble's delightful African American romance with its vivid Venice setting. Patty Engelmann
