I liked the premise of the story, but it fell very short for me. Had this been about a game that this couple played together, it would have been more enjoyable, but instead it was all about Sadie. Sadie is not a likeable heroine. She is selfish, childish, and manipulative assuming that if she takes off playing cat and mouse, her fiancé Dylan will come running. The sad part is that Dylan did chase her.

The erotic scenes were okay, but not great. The words were there, but not written in a manner to draw the reader in. Overall very lacking and not a keeper.

They have been dating six months, but to Sadie that is not enough time while to Dylan he knows she is the one. In a fancy restaurant the lawyer goes on his knee to propose while Sadie chokes on her shrimp. She has doubts, but somehow her moth said yes instead of no as her mind kept encouraging her.

Dylan has all the qualities that a woman would want in a spouse. He is faithful, honest (please no lawyer comments), caring and makes good money. Yet the twenty-seven year old Sadie has doubts because so far he has not brought her sexual fantasies to life although she admits to herself he has no idea what they are. When she begins having nightmares and then hives, Sadie blames Dylan so she decides to raise the courtship to a different level. She flees to oversea sand dunes challenging him to follow. Dylan picks up the gauntlet as he knows she is his soulmate, but makes a few rule changes to her cast and mouse sex game so he can fulfill his fantasies too.

Travelogues are not written quite like Alyssa Brooks provides them as readers will escape with this duo from Hawaii to Mexico to Egypt. From ménage to bondage to tonguing, etc. this likable couple provides readers with a heated prelude to their marriage. Erotic romance fans will enjoy the sensual encounters between Dylan and Sadie as each knows what he or she desires and sets forth to satiate those itches.

5.0 out of 5 stars Awesome - for those looking for something a little taboo, July 13, 2007
This review is from: Come and Get Me (Mass Market Paperback)
Usually, I'm a fan of romance novels - most of the erotica I've found is a poorly written string of sex scenes. This, however, was amazing. Fantastic sex tied together with an actual, believable plotline and characters that the reader can care about. Absolutely worth it, I'm recommending it to my friends (the ones who are open-minded about unique sex), including some of my guy friends.

More, please, Ms. Brooks!

5.0 out of 5 stars Come and Get Me, July 27, 2007
This review is from: Come and Get Me (Mass Market Paperback)
Just as preparations for her wedding are getting underway, Sadie begins to get cold feet. Although she truly loves her fiancé, Dylan, she doesn't think she's ready for marriage. All of her fears hit home when she begins to have erotic dreams...of another man! One evening, the panic really sets in and she gets up, packs her things and leaves, daring Dylan to come and get her.

Even with the picture clues that Sadie leaves, it's difficult for Dylan to drop everything and chase after her. Yet, he knows she's the one for him and he'll do whatever is necessary to keep her, even break out of his own sexual repressions to truly seduce her. But will it be enough?

Come and Get Me is a story of one woman whose fears become more than she can handle. Although I enjoyed the growth that both Sadie and Dylan experienced, Sadie's means of expressing her fear was very childish and selfish. Instead of talking about what disturbed her, she blamed others for the choices she made and then ran from those decisions instead of talking to the man she supposedly loved so much. Dylan had his own issues and Sadie's dare actually allows him the chance to explore his true wants and needs. Eventually they both realize and discover what they want in their relationship.

Come and Get Me is a fast-paced, sex-filled story that shows the way two people learn to handle their fears, both as individuals and as a couple. Come and Get Me showcases the many feelings that these two characters feel and will keep the reader's interest from beginning to end, even if only to discover what Sadie will do next and the lengths Dylan will go to in order to rein in his runaway lover.

5.0 out of 5 stars Swept Away!!, July 8, 2007
This review is from: Come and Get Me (Mass Market Paperback)
Surprised be a marriage proposal from her boyfriend of six months - with her parents looking on no less - Sadie feels like she can't say no. But when sexually explicit nightmares and panic attacks start as she's lovingly guilt tripped into the wedding of their parents' dreams, she can't resist the urge to run and gets caught in the act.

Dylan can't believe Sadie's acting so irresponsibly with this game of come and get me, but he won't lose their future or her love over it. When he finally sees the challenge for what it is - a test of their love for them both - Dylan turns the tables on Sadie and the leader becomes pursuer. With the both of them winning some sexy sweet to OhMiGod moments as they race around the world's most exotic locations.

Too Hot To Handle does not do this story justice! The afterglow and sweet smile on your face when you've read the end leaves you fulfilled and wanting to celebrate this loving couple's first anniversary with them. This white-hot author leaves you with the impression of the rules and the locations of "The Game" are about to be rocked again!
I hope we get to see Come and Get Me Again!!

2.0 out of 5 stars Silly!, February 24, 2011
This review is from: Come and Get Me (Paperback)
This book was absolutely maddening and silly. It is about two immature people who are going to get married for the wrong reasons. He is boring and she is spoiled and then she gets cold feet. So she tells her groom "to come and get her" if he wants her. It started it off promising because she runs to Hawaii and he finds her, they have great sex and good communication on her hesitations. Yet as soon as he falls asleep she runs again, and again and again. Also her parents were very annoying, the father actually told the hero Dylan his daughter wouldn't be running if he was giving her O's as in orgasms- okay that is creepy. I had to fan myself during the sex scenes because they were scorchers especially in Egypt, Dylan finally took charge. I ended up skimming through the last 1/3 of the book because I thought the premise was ridiculous and immature. I gave it 2 stars because the sex was hot and maybe if I liked the heroine better the book would have been better. She didn't deserve Dylan instead of "Come and Get Me" it should have been "Run and Dump Her".

5.0 out of 5 stars Couldn't put it down, July 5, 2009
By
This review is from: Come and Get Me (Mass Market Paperback)
I am not a huge fan of romance novels, but with my husband deployed to Iraq, I wanted a decent read with believable plot lines and something just a little interesting to make me actually want to read it. This book surprised me so much that I couldn't put it down! I barely have time to read, but I found myself staying up all night just to finish the book! Very romantic and inspiring and well...HOT! Makes me miss my younger days!

5.0 out of 5 stars Sizzling!, July 7, 2007

This review is from: Come and Get Me (Mass Market Paperback)
It's hot, it's humid and you want a vacation! Sometimes, you just can't get away, and if that's the case, you should read "Come and Get Me." It is a mini vacation just in time for summer. It's hot and steamy, just like a summer trip should be.

Alyssa Brooks takes you on a sexy adventure with Dylan and Sadie. Sadie leads Dylan on a chase around the world. A chase for what you might ask? Her! Dylan and Sadie have quite the adventure. The two of them have plans to get married, but when Sadie runs off, Dylan worries their wedding is off too. Little does he know, he's in for the time of his life. Their sexual encounters are

I hate giving away the best parts of a book, so you'll have to read it to find out "all the best parts." "Come and Get Me," is a book that will make you hold you breath, and you won't even realize your doing it! You'll grip the sides of you chair too! Get ready for a book that you'll read in one sitting, because you'll be glued to you seat.

Hot romance can easily be so tied up in the "hot romance," that the storyline suffers. This book is not the case, your get an adventure of a lifetime, all from you favorite chair! Keep you lover close by people...you very well might need them!

1.0 out of 5 stars Not Worth My Time - Or Yours, August 27, 2007
This review is from: Come and Get Me (Mass Market Paperback)
The first requirement for a good romance novel should be a likeable hero and heroine. "Come and Get Me" started off with 50% of that requirement, but oh my word - the heroine! Spoiled, self-centered, totally irresponsible, she was completely indifferent to her fiance's duties to his clients or his partner or, for that matter, his wants and needs. Everything was for and about her. And did I mention it was her parent's money she was spending for all her round-the-world travels. I kept hoping the hero would dump her and doggedly continued reading on the off-chance that he'd show some backbone and refuse to follow her. Unfortunately, he didn't and that's when I decided he was just as obnoxious as his girlfriend and totally lost interest in the book (I did finish it, however). Let's hope this couple doesn't reproduce; can you imagine anything more pathetic than the lives of children born to this narcissistic pair? Okay, okay, I know it's just a fantasy novel, but I really hate the idea of an author passing off two immature brats as a "fun couple".
