Her loving, descriptive prose and elegantly styled photographs turn this rigorously researched historical record into a joyous romp through America s most beloved icons, with her passion for the West illuminating every page. --Susan L. Ebert Associate Publisher & Editor, Western & English Today magazine

Corinne Brown shows us that Western-themed dinnerware usually regarded as mere kitsch represents a valuable chapter in the history of American visual culture and its role in the formation of national identity --Elissa Auther Associate Professor of Contemporary Art, University of Colorado

Corinne Joy Brown has done an excellent job of researching western dinner ware. The photos and graphics are great. The book is very well written and readable with lots of background information. I would recommend this book for any one with an interest in western history or period furnishings. It is really fun to picture yourself eating a dinner from some of this wonderful china.

5.0 out of 5 stars Exquisite Style, January 14, 2011

This review is from: Come and Get It! The Saga of Western Dinnerware (Paperback)
Corinne Joy Brown is a woman of many passions, but the collection and appreciation of Western Dinnerware surfaces as one of those most relevant to the people of the West. Lovingly and meticulously researched, beautifully written and designed, this book will enhance the decor of any kitchen, living room or library. Chock full of history, cultural threads, and colorful photographs I purchased the book to give to a friend for her birthday and ended up reading it first myself! For many years when I worked on old-time ranches in the Rocky Mountain West I ate plenty of meals off of vintage dinnerware and never knew the importance of the cups, plates, and bowls. Now I do. I'm grateful to Corinne for educating me, enlightening me, and entertaining me with this book. It is both a winner and a keeper.
