Wow!An Awesome Album with different versions!,

This review is from: Come to Me (Audio CD)
OMG! This is more than what I expected! Where in the world can you find such tracks? I agree that the fine folks at Unidisc created a wonderful concept. They've also wonderfully included different versions of each track. This is one album that I would like listening to again and again. Guys, what are you waiting for? Grab it while it's still available!

Excellent 1979 Disco Album,
By A Customer

When you think of celebrity superstars from Quebec, most people will mention hockey legend Mario Lemieux and songbird sensation Celine Dion. However, France Joli should be included. If it wasn't for the disco backlash which occurred the same year as this album, France would have been a megastar dance artist along with the likes of Madonna! Her English sounds great too!I have listened to this album quite a few times and I would recommend this album to any disco/dance fan. Included is the new house version of "Come To Me" which sounds just as good as the original song!

For Diehard Fans Only,
By A Customer
This review is from: Come to Me (Audio CD)
The title track has been a favorite of mine since it led Billboard's top 40 back in 1979. However, I was rather disappointed by this release, particularly the instrumental version where they simply stripped out Joli's vocal and left the remaining vocals, leaving a hollow rendition rather than a decent instrumental. I'd suggest the Greatest Hits release instead. But if your heart is set on this one, shop around. (I didn't, or would have noticed that ..... has this release priced at $$$$ vs. the $$$$$ Amazon rate. If you're going to buy, go for the bargain.

Abundance of disco- teenage- naivete!,
By A Customer
This review is from: Come to Me (Audio CD)
Joli is actually a teen princess (15 years old), having a ball playing goddess of desire in "come To Me", as if living the disco life were the easiest, most exciting after-school recreation she could possibly imagine. Having four (!!) versions of the title hit track on this disc is awesome!! An excellent idea!! What's especially cool is that the producers of this disc put on the instrumental version and the disco remix. The instrumental version extends the sheer pleasure derived from the album verion and the disco remix. What more can a France Joli fan ask for? It's great to have also radio edits of the other three songs!

PURE DISCO AT IT'S FINEST!!,
This review is from: Come to Me (Audio CD)
I have not purchased this version yet, but plan to after I finish writing this review. I still have my original album that I purchased back in 1979 when I was in the Army stationed in Panama. I had no idea who this young lady was or what type of music I was buying at the time I picked out the album. Thats just the way it was when you were stationed overseas with no radio to know what music was popular at the time. I have to say I was blessed with always being able to pick the best music and this album was one of my greatest picks I must say. I wore the grooves out on this one. Well let me hurry up and finish here so I won't miss out on this opportunity, cause I've been trying to find this for a long time now. Thanks Amazon!

This review is from: Come To Me (MP3 Download)
For several years, I've been recreating my musical collection in digital form for my mp3 player. In frustration, I DID buy and download (via Amazon) the only version avaiable of "Come to Me", the live show one. It's not the same as the old disco track, however. I just decided to check again today, and voila! there it was! Now I'm a happy former disco dancer! For some reason, this song is one I never, ever forgot. I still had a vision of the album cover etched into my brain. Thank GOD for Amazon. Thus far, there are very few songs I CAN'T find here.

Wonderful disco classic album,

One of the rare disco diva records where every track is solid--not just the big hit. We're not quite talking Donna Summer quality here but France teamed up with Montreal's writer/producer Tony Green come close to some of the Moroder/Summer magic. It's great to have the full album versions (which are produced so well that you never get bored of them even if most of the tracks are over 8 minutes) as well as the radio edits. The first track though, a "remix" from the early 90s is a complete waste. So why not 5 stars? Unidisc, as they have done on some other releases (France Joli's excellent followup "Tonight", Irene Cara's classic "What a Feelin") have shuffled the order of the tracks! If you want to play the original album as it was sequenced on vinyl you have to go: 5 Come to Me 4 Let Go 3 Don't Stop Dancing 2 Playboy in other words almost reverse order... E

I have been friends with who I now know as France Joli for 3 years. She is absolutely a delightful person and I am so happy to call her my friend. Not to mention she is an awesome singer.
