This is the first Gooseberry Patch cookbook I've owned. Flipping through it, I've found most of the recipes to be simple crowd pleasers. My in-laws were visiting this past weekend and I made 3 recipes from the book. 2 of them turned out very well, and the third was truly awful (the macaroni and cheese). As a reviewer for another book in this series noted, sometimes saving time sacrifices taste. Overall a good buy and I'm sure I'll use more recipes in the near future.

There are some things you buy and just use the rest of your life. I've used this particular cookbook almost daily since I've purchased it. Can't really say that there are really too many "stinkers" in this one but the other reviewer indicated that to save time, you have to sacrifice taste. Not so. These books are created here in Central Ohio and quite frankly folks, Ohioans prefer pretty bland food. So, some of these recipes don't have too many spices involved. Keep that in mind while you're making them and add what you think "fits." That's what I do because quite frankly, although we live in Ohio, I used to live in the South and enjoyed spicier foods. There are some recipes in this book that don't even call for salt and pepper but heavens, they certainly need it! I've used this book over and over again, adding whatever spices that I thought necessary, and have found numerous recipes that are now favorites in our house. Grab this one for sure, it's a keeper!

The recipes in this book are oh so easy and very delicious. Our favorite is Grandma's biscuits. U gotta try them!!! Highly recommend!

This is the BEST cookbook ever! The recipes contain everyday items and are easy to follow. There are suggestions for dressing up your table and making guests feel welcome. It's a must for every home!

As always, Gooseberry has once again come up with recipes, new ones, old ones, tried and true ones and compiled them with fun and helpful hints to make your entertaining more pleasurable.
