5.0 out of 5 stars Prince - Surprising Us Again, June 18, 2001

Brian A. Trevino (Tempe, AZ United States) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Come on (Audio CD)
Some people are just so demanding of artists nowadays. They expect artists to put out music that they would like to hear. If that's the case, go into a studio and record an album yourself. Prince has long been creating hits since 1978. When a song like "Come On" hits the shelves, I want it, because it is art. Prince wasn't thinking of a hit when he wrote Come On, but rather what was personally going on with his personal life (Mayte - His Wife). And because it comes from the heart and is written in all spirtuality, I and numerous others can relate. Prince surprises us again with the music he is living before he writes it. This is what an album should be all about! It is a fine compilation of Pop and Funk with a smooth synthesizer laid down in the back. Grab "Come On" if you don't already have it and Come On!

4.0 out of 5 stars A Great Addition to Your Prince Collection, January 17, 1999
This review is from: Come on (Audio CD)
For die-hard Prince fans, this CD is a must have if but for the second track. Come On is one of my favorites from New Power Soul, and the Kirk Johnson remix that runs over 8 minutes featuring a rare Prince rap completes any collection.

4.0 out of 5 stars Good Track, September 16, 2000
This review is from: Come on (Audio CD)
While The NPS Album was One The Weakest Albums Prince has ever Put out the Single COme One was one of The Few Truly Bright Spots.but it's a Cool Song. The Rap was Hit&Miss not one of Prince's Strong Suits.but the Music&Vibe is in Line with The Older Style Prince that I Dig.in his Camille Voice Speeded Up His Songs are Usually Some of His Best.
