Silly House Songs, July 5, 2006
This review is from: Come Rain Come Shine (Audio CD)
You'd think that people would have had enough of Silly Love Songs. But this record tells me it isn't so.
After having written half the songs on earth, Paul Mc Cartney still gets miffed whenever someone messes with his intellectual
property. Really, apart from the atrocity of the Stars on 45 medley, which caused a lot of teeth-gnashing among Beatle fans in the 80's, when was the last time you heard a McCartney song that got sampled?
Some monks intoning a Gregorian chant in a faraway cloister can be sampled. McCartney? Good luck.
So when the distinctive bassline of Silly Love Songs came on the
radio one day and started kicking exuberantly under a four-four
beat, I couldn't wait to hear how the housefied McCartney
classic would sound.
But it wasn't Silly Love Songs.
Instead of Paul's vocals, an infectious female voice came on and started gliding above the house beats. Nice.
It was newcomer Jenn Cuneta and I was hearing Come Rain,
Come Shine for the first time. And far from falling into a fit of apoplexy, Sir Paul actually authorized this recording. Is there any doubt we are witnessing the making of a major musical artist in Jenn Cuneta? This girl is going far.
Some people wanna fill the world with house-y love songs, and
what's wrong with that?

awesome summer dance song, December 10, 2005
This review is from: Come Rain Come Shine (Audio CD)
of course this is a cover of Paul McCartney. This song is very very catchy. It has modern sound engineering with a touch of an old school sound. The Andy & Lamboy mix is just the extended mix clocking in 7 minutes. The Stonebridge & Patrick Alvali are terrible club mixes. Of course, the Mike Cruz vox club mix is not on this domestic single but is on the vinyl. Now that really sucks.

COME RAIN COME SHINE ... JUST COME ONTO THE DANCEFLOOR, December 9, 2005
This review is from: Come Rain Come Shine (Audio CD)
CUNETA's vocals are reminiscent to those of another great female vocal stylist; a young DENIECE WILLIAMS.
The musical production of this track is up to par with those of other timeless dance tracks.
COME RAIN COME SHINE is extremely catchy and has the sort of mass appeal that will make the public run back globally onto dance floors.
The label should immediatly consider releasing a possible "radio track version" of this title.
The song is a definite career maker.
