In our school the second graders do a report on what country their family originally came from. Many of the country books are written at too high a reading level so after researching many books on South Korea I found a few and this one is exactly what we need. The book is about a boy, Chang Min who moves from South Korea to New Jersey due to his dad's job. While most of the book is about life in New Jersey the comparisons will give students a glimpse to what living in Korea is like. He compares school, food and culture.A map, glossary and more information is included.

*Interesting for adults is the school comparison. Class sizes are much larger in Korea and students are in school for many more hours than here.
