5.0 out of 5 stars Scholarly, well written and fascinating, April 20, 2000
By Robert Wyckoff (Roxbury, MA) - See all my reviews
This is a companion book to The Songs of Zion, a collection of hymns, gospel and spirituals from the Black Methodist tradition which is used in many United Methodist churches today. It is a very useful and interesting book for anyone who would like to know more about this vital and wonderful music which is uniquely American.
