2.0 out of 5 stars Not even worth the 5 dollars !, November 10, 1998
By A Customer
This review is from: Come Together (Audio CD)
If you think this is the re-release of the original Ike & Tina album "come Together" (liberty records), than you're wrong ! This is a budget compilation of laserlight and contains (only) ten tracks. The album contains some songs of the sixties and seventies but does not even deserve the name "compilation". Even when the price is only about 5 dollars, it's not worth the money !

5.0 out of 5 stars Nicely balanced, low price CD, September 25, 2008
This review is from: Come Together (Audio CD)
Nice pressings of '60s and '70s material, including an interesting recut of the Spector-produced Classic.
"I Gotta Man" is, of course, a slight rewrite of "I Got A Woman (I Got A Sweetie)", well presented. As usual, Tina's vocal is intense, impassioned, and "real".
Very interesting liner notes provided (inner page) on who is really singing on I Think It's Gonna Work Out Fine". By the way, for collectors, there's a terrific live version (c. 1971) on a Johnny Carson/The Tonight Show double-album of musical performances.
"Good Good Lovin", credited to "J. Brown", does not sound at all like the JB early '60s Classic.
This is Rock and R & B, if you will - not quite Rock, not quite Funk. Ten nice tracks for the casual listening of longtime fans and for the (new) listening of firstime fans.
This CD appears to be one in a series.

3.0 out of 5 stars Ike and Tina, April 24, 1999
By A Customer
This review is from: Come Together (Audio CD)
This cd is not exactly a staple for Tina fans but it is worth the 5 dollars. Includes Fool in Love, Come Together, and my personal favorite Oh MY My.
