Was just talking with our musician after church this morning & was STUNNED that he didn't know about this CD!! This is as fresh now as when I first bought it 8 years ago. In fact, I wore out the 1st & had to replace it; my wife also keeps "borrowing" it. I LOVE Oleta's amazingly rich, soothing voice!! This is the one I invariably look for when things get too crazy around me. It's the closest thing to a comforting touch from my Savior that I can get on this side of Heaven's Gates. Oleta, just keep singing & blessing searchers like me. God bless you & may Heaven smile upon you & your work!!

I have listenned to Oleta's other cd's however this is the icing on the cake. The lyrics and music is uplifting. Her voice is beautiful. All the songs touch me, however the title cut Come and Walk with Me, is breathtaking. I hope more music like this is coming from Ms. Adams. I play this cd over and over again. I never grow tired of it.

All I can say is, absolutely, incredible piece of work. The production, the arrangement, the writing along with the most incredible voice out there. Yolanda Adams has an outstanding voice, but this girl can sang. Oleta, you have been blessed. This is what great singing is all about. Hope she's back in the studio for spiritual or secular, I don't care, I will be a fan for life.

God definitely blessed Ms. Adams with a dynamic voice and she honors Him beautifully in return with "Come Walk With Me". This CD was a gift to me a year and a half ago for purchasing my new car and I have not removed it from the CD player SINCE! I continue to listen attentively and still shed a few tears every once in a while. Ms. Adams really conveys how much God loves us and how we should all praise His holy name. Thank you God for Oleta and thank you Oleta for your songs.

Oleta Adams is blessed with the kind of voice that can literally lift you - her stunning nuanced vocal delivery captures the mood and essence of each song with great effect that it cannot fail to move you.

"Come Walk With Me" is a beautiful album. The writing, producing and arranging were all excellent. The album opens with the soothing tones of "Holy Is The Lamb", but "I Will Love You" is the gorgeous track that I can listen to over and over without ever tiring of it.

The whole album flows quite nicely. There's only one up-tempo track here - the mildly funky "If You're Willing" that'll be sure to get you shuffling your feet. There are a couple of tracks that put shivers down my spine; the first is "Wash, Oh God, Our Sons and Daughters", with its soaring, sweeping arrangement and lovely orchestral arrangement. The second track is the awesome "Beams Of Heaven", which is reminiscent to those old spirituals that Mahalia Jackson used to sing; you know, the one where she takes her time and is just lost in the music. This is a moving, heart-felt performance that closes the album.

This is the kind of CD that you listen to when you're in a reflective frame of mind - it's the perfect album to lift your spirits.

Sometimes --- even with artists whose work you typically love --- a cd needs to be played several times before you really "feel" it. Not so with this one. You know you'll spend plenty of time playing a cd when you loved it the first time around! The rich character of Oleta's voice is simply unmistakeable. This cd is comprised of wonderful selections which soothe the spirit and calm the mind. Not a lot of shouting going on here, which is fine by me: simply music that opens the door to worship, and is peaceful enough to allow for meditation. Wonderfully done...I highly recommend.

oleta adams is truly a gifted artist. from her days singing in a hotel piano bar to achieving platinum sales to producing a gospel album, adams has proven time after time that, for her, the music is what's important. while perfectly capable of powerhouse gospel vocals, even her wailing retains a certain calm; her voice, rather than rousing one to one's feet in dance, sends one inside one's self, comforting and nurturing the soul. she is the heirophant, the worldly aunt to whom you can tell everything, even things your mother wouldn't understand. her gospel comes with no fire-and-brimstone rebuke, but rather with a holistic compassion. fans of adams, regardless of whether the subscribe to traditional "christian" bliefs, should take a chance on this album. like roberta flack's 1997 christmas release, the beauty of adams' _come walk with me_ becomes the unmistakable focal point of the album.

EVER recorded. Period. Oleta's "gospel" CD (in an interview she said it was just sooner or later that she would record a gospel album because that's where her musical roots were)--but this CD is more than exceptionally fine vocals, the material on it can make you get a lump in your throat, it can soothe you, you can put it on "repeat all" and sleep to it all night, and wake up to Oleta! My favorite two singers of all time are Billie and Nina, but THIS CD by Oleta is UP there with the original Verve LP's by Billie or her Columbia opus: Lady in Satin; or Nina's gorgeous "Black Gold" LP! This Oleta CD is right up there, maybe throw in a few Ella Rodgers & Hart Songbook CD's too to compare it to. I never epected this disc to become one of two or three CD's I ALWAYS CARRY with my portable player! It's a "just in case things get reaaaaalll bad": sort of a replacement for Lady in Satin (I've cried too much with that album even when I wasn't sad at all!) so hello Oleta! and thanks for both the inspiration and REAL COMFORT in all the WORST SCENARIOS life has bought up to the age of 50 (ending with one 10-year relationship with the love of my life who died of a brain tumor 2 years ago--this CD landed in my mailbox one month later --Oct.99-- and keeps finding it's way on to my daily playlist!) To say that she sings the blues, jazz, or even gospel, would be "shorting" her talent-- she's Oleta (ONE WORD) like Billie, Nina or Ella! Oleta is not just a voice, but a powerful testimony for what's "good" in the world, like this CD for instance(grin),and that ain't bad these days!

Oleta Adams has always graced audiences and listeners with her soothing and sultry vocal stylings. This album is an excellent exhibiton of her vocal talent, but more importantly, a display of the encouraging power of gospel. In this cd, Oleta explores the dynamics of spirituality through praise, faith, love, and trust. I have been blessed by this cd.

Oleta Adams is remarkably talented. Her voice is just awesome; I love her style. The two songs that stand out on this album for me are "Wash, Oh God...." and the title track, "Come walk with me".
