5.0 out of 5 stars Captivating story line
The book was excellent. I love the story line. I give it five stars. I was glad a author finally did a love story that included single parents and real love. It displayed a love in a setting with children and there need to be loved as well as there parent.

3.0 out of 5 stars Pretty Good...
I think this book is pretty good, though a little unrealistic. the book is about a second grade teacher who falls for the father of one of her students. The dad is an ex pro football player and has his sights set on this intriguing woman from the first time they meet. The little boy is also instrumental in hooking the two up. You immediately fall in love with the child...

5.0 out of 5 stars Come What May is a year round hit!, January 5, 2004
This review is from: Come What May (Arabesque) (Mass Market Paperback)
I so enjoyed `Come What May,' I had not read such a smoothly written book in a long time. Ms. Garner really drew up some well thought out characters and made the story a relaxing read even though the suspense and excitement existed in the storyline.
For the type of book that this is-romance, it wasn't soupy soppy or overly dramatic, damaged by a lot of misplaced and untimely `I love you's.' The ending twist gave the last push to the book's fifth star. Introducing the characters to be in the sequel was done well. I can't wait to read more about Dean.

You immediately fall in love with the child and his persistence in getting his dad and teacher together. Though the storyline is interesting, the author failed to address an important concern- the conflict of interest between teaching a student and dating his parent.

4.0 out of 5 stars Okay Read, November 16, 2011
This review is from: Come What May (Arabesque) (Mass Market Paperback)
I bought this book through a book club and it sat on the shelf for a long time but I finally started looking at all the books I own and decided to read this one first. I must say it started out a little slow and to me some parts should have come up later in the storyline than at the first couple of chapters. I did enjoy the relationships forming in the book but I think this book was a little slow for what I'm used to reading. Like Tracee I like sequels so I purchased the 2nd book today from Amazon and I will let you all know what I think when I'm done. I like to always give authors a chance so I will allow 4 stars and see what the sequel will bring.

3.0 out of 5 stars Slow, March 8, 2004

This book's theme was okay, but it is so slow. I was like ok lets get to the meat of the meal. What I really thought the book was about it really wasn't; there wasn't enough drama to sooth my appetite.

The romance part was even weak. I was going to give the book 4 stars, but I bumped it down to 3. Don't rush to purchase, do what did and get it from the library.

Later!!

4.0 out of 5 stars A Love Story, February 5, 2004
This review is from: Come What May (Arabesque) (Mass Market Paperback)
Tracee Lydia Garner is back with her new book, COME WHAT MAY. If you like romantic suspense novels, then definitely pick this one up online or at your favorite local book store. Garner craftily tells the story of elementary school teacher, Tisha Jameson and former pro-football star, Chase Alton.

Tisha relocates from Virginia to Macon, Georgia to escape the repercussions of a scandal. Meeting a man is the last thing on her mind. Chase is the father of one of her students and sparks fly immediately between the two.

As they both learn how to love and trust again, people from their past threaten to ruin their happiness. Will their love be enough to withstand these obstacles or will they both end up with a broken heart?

Garner reveals through her characters how important it is to deal with situations as they arise. This winter, pour a cup of cocoa, sit back, relax, and read Come What May.

3.0 out of 5 stars The freedom to live, January 27, 2003
By
The RAWSISTAZ Reviewers (RAWSISTAZ.com and BlackBookReviews.net) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Come What May (Arabesque) (Mass Market Paperback)
Come What May by Tracee Lydia Garner takes us into the
class room and into the life of Tisha Jameson. Tish left
her home in Virginia to escape a tragic occurrence with
one of her students and also to get out of the clutches
of her overbearing family. She now resides in Macon,
Georgia and teaches in a recently built private school.
Tish believes this was the best move for her, until
someone from her past appears and now Tish's sanity and
her life may be in danger.

The writer uses this story to expose the frailty of kids,
the importance of a caring family and the knowledge that
at some point life makes you tough so that issues can be
dealt with, 'come what may'. This romantic suspense is
enhanced by the love of one of Tish's students. Thomas'
love engulfs her and brings with it the confidence she
needs to become her own person. Thomas is also the key
to his father's decision to make some monumental changes.

Ms. Garner has written and an interesting book that
covers some serious issues, but for me the characters
seemed distant and at times the story tended to drag a
little. The theme of this book was dealt with in a
positive way as the author emphasizes that no matter how
stressful issues are somehow we prevail. There is a
sequel to this book and I do look forward to reading it.
(More like a 3.5)...

5.0 out of 5 stars LOVE CONQUERS ALL, February 17, 2003
This review is from: Come What May (Arabesque) (Mass Market Paperback)
TISHA JAMESON MOVES FROM VIRGINIA TO GEORGIA TO GET AWAY FROM A SCANDAL AND AN OVERPROTECTIVE FAMILY. CHASE ALTON IS A SINGLE FATHER TRYING TO RAISE HIS SON AFTER BEING BETRAYED BY HIS WIFE. THE TWO MEET BECAUSE OF CHASE'S SON THOMAS AND FEEL AN INSTANT ATTRACTION.

I ABSOLUTELY LOVED THIS ROMANTIC SUSPENSE FROM PAGE 1 TO PAGE 378. THIS BOOK COVERED SOME SERIOUS ISSUES AND ALL OF THEM WERE WRITTEN EXCELLENTLY. I LOOK FORWARD TO READING THE SEQUEL.
