Patrick Park is one of those artists who somehow manages to be under the radar when he has NO business of being under the radar. This man has talent and plays a style of music which is easy on the ears and wonderful on the soul. In terms of style, it is mostly acoustic based guitar singer songwriter fare with additional fancy instruments tossed in to flesh out the songs. This is Patricks 3rd full length album and in my thought, another gem.
It isn't as diverse in style as perhaps album number 1 or perhaps as strong song for song as album 2 BUT it does have some instant likable songs on it like "You'll get over" and "Come what will". If you've enjoyed the prior albums, you'll enjoy this and i would highly recommend it. If this is your first visit to "the Park", then go in the order of releases. You won't be sorry.

Like a blackbird through the dark,

PaTRICK pARK is a very gifted folk-influenced LA based artist. This album is one of the best indie folk albums I've heard. His songs are both hopeful yet very melancholy with a twinge of beautiful sadness. My favorites are the percussion driven the "Lucky Ones" whose infectious chorus is "We are the lucky ones the mothers' daughters the fathers' sons, we are the holy rollers who take this weight upon our shoulders to make the best of this life". A very energetic song is Blackbird through the dark in which Park's beautiful voice comes out as soothing as ever. Highly recommend this albul to seasond PP fans and any new listeners who enjoy country/folk influenced singer songwriter music.

Why isn't the music press fawning all over this new album? Oh, I know why, because it's not about MUSIC for them. It's about CRAP THAT SELLS. What a shame. If you just love music and and want a great new album to delve into then look no further. Patrick is very talented and the fact that he isn't well known is a real sin. Why be concerned with labels. Who needs the damn labels? Good music is good music and it will always prevail regardless of sales. Do yourself a favour and quit whining about how "new music" sucks and there aren't any great artists or songs anymore. Believe me, there are plenty. So stop being lazy and listen to something that will move you on many levels.
