Book Description

March 28, 2005
In this newly revised edition of the award-winning Come to Your Senses: Demystifying the Mind-Body Connection, Dr. Stanley Block offers his Ten-Day Plan to optimize your life -- a breakthrough program that has helped people all over the world heal from post-traumatic stress syndrome, combat trauma, substance abuse, mental illness, pain, and depression.

The easy-to-apply method uses Identity System "resting" techniques that enable you to recognize and defuse the self-defeating mental tug-of-war that exists in all of us. Learn how stress, fear, and thought activate the sympathetic nervous system with increased tension, pain, insomnia, anxiety, and depressive symptoms. By literally "coming to your senses" of taste, touch, smell, sight, and sound, you begin to control negative responses, free yourself from a paralyzed state of mind, and live a happy, balanced life.

The response is amazing because the results are immediate -- ten days is all it takes -- Dr. Block's techniques take no time out of a busy schedule, they are simply incorporated into whatever activity you are engaged. Bridging the Identity System empowers you to work from your own strength and wisdom to deal with situations that arise in your life.

4.0 out of 5 stars Right On Dr. Block, April 26, 2005
By
This review is from: Come to Your Senses: Demystifying the Mind Body Connection (Paperback)
Over the last 15 years I have read many self-help books. Tho many have been helpful in some way, not all have had such an immediate impact on personal identity and introspection.

"Come To Your Senses" is a wonderful book. I have thoroughly enjoyed learning about how to gain insight into who I am. I also appreciate Dr. Block's approach to the concept of self as some ideas and approaches have been difficult for me to grasp so readily.

Thank you Dr. Block for clearing the otherwise muddy waters of my journey.

Important for all doctors, of medicine and chiropractic, or whichever, is the fact that the mind and thought are the origin of some forms of illness and physical dysfunction. It is a difficult thing to reverse thoughts, or stop them in their destructive tracks. This book is a tool on how to do it. Mr J. Krishnamurti's writings uncovered thought as a destructive thing for me many years ago. Dr and Mrs Block's book puts a practical, doable slant on thought related disease and deceit of the true self. The best ten bucks you'll ever spend.

5.0 out of 5 stars The last self help book I'll ever need, December 7, 2005
This review is from: Come to Your Senses: Demystifying the Mind Body Connection (Paperback)
This book has been like a miracle for me. It tells you HOW to
reach that beautiful spiritual place so many of us have strived
for with little or no success. It's so simple! I can't thank Dr. Block enough for quite literally changing my life. I hope to
get a chance to meet him in person one day. By the way, this is the first book I've ever written a review on.
