"Star-studded",

This review is from: Comedy 10 Movie Pack (DVD)
"Star-studded" is a term that gets tossed around casually, often without cause. Saying that the COMEDY 10 MOVIE PACK is star-studded is no exaggeration, however. Some of the most famous mid-20th century Hollywood actors appear in these films. To name just a few: Bob Hope, Fred Astaire, Jimmy Stewart, Humphrey Bogart, Kirk Douglas and Jimmy Cagney. Not a bad list, huh?
All of these public domain comedies are quite good. Transfer quality is fine, and the price a real bargain. With clean humor, sure-fire laughs and the best of performers, this is a collection that belongs in all home cinematic libraries. Another related DVD box set is the COMEDY CLASSICS 50 MOVIE PACK COLLECTION. It contains six of these, plus such family favorites as the East Side Kids, Laurel & Hardy, Mickey Rooney and the Keystone Cops. . The following alphabetized program list provides 1 to 10 viewer poll ratings for each title, plus their years of release and most prominent actors. (6.2) The Amazing Quest Of Ernest Bliss (1936) - Cary Grant (6.5) Beat The Devil (1953) - Humphrey Bogart/Gina Lollobrigida (8.0) His Girl Friday (1940) - Cary Grant/Rosalind Russell (6.4) Made For Each Other (1939) - Carole Lombard/James Stewart (5.5) The Medicine Man (1930) - Jack Benny (5.8) My Dear Secretary (1949) - Laraine Day/Kirk Douglas/Keenan Wynn/Rudy Vallee (6.9) My Favorite Brunette (1947) - Bob Hope/Dorothy Lamour/Peter Lorre/Lon Chaney Jr. (5.8) Pot o' Gold (1941) - James Stewart/Paulette Goddard (6.6) Royal Wedding (1951) - Fred Astaire/Jane Powell/Peter Lawford/Keenan Wynn (6.3) Something To Sing About (1937) - James Cagney/William Frawley

Since I am a Senior Citizen these bring back a lot of happy memories but I also thing younger people would enjoy them. This gives them a chance to see what they missed when they were not yet on the scene!

Item arrived as promised and in condition agreed on. Movies are all B&W and oldies, which is fine, but some of the movies were not the quality I had expected. (Noisy). It's ok if you like real oldies and the price was good.
