5.0 out of 5 stars Here Comes Brady Rymer, April 16, 2008
This review is from: Here Comes Brady Rymer & the Little Band That Could (Audio CD)
On a road trip last week we spent about 30 hours in the car. We had books, portable DVD player, the everchanging scenery out the window, and, of course, an iPod loaded with new kids music.

One of the big musical hits of the trip was the new CD from Brady Rymer, called Here Comes Brady Rymer and The Little Band That Could. Rymer has a fresh, feel-good sound that is perfect for drumming along on the steering wheel or the back of the seat. His songs are a joyous mix of pop, country, folk, and straight-ahead rock. If your kids enjoy Ralph's World, they'll love Brady Rymer.

This is another one of those CDs that you could fool your adult friends with by not telling them it's supposed to be for children. The magic of Brady Rymer is that he makes music that appeals to all ages. His songs could rest very comfortably on a playlist with Bruce Springsteen, James Taylor, and Jack Johnson.

Catchy choruses abound on tracks like "It Was A Saturday Night," "Your Smile," and our favorite, "Road Trip." Rymer also turns in classy covers of Woody Guthrie's "Bling Blang" and Pete Seeger's "Well May The World Go."

5.0 out of 5 stars The Uncle's Secret Angle, March 24, 2008
This review is from: Here Comes Brady Rymer & the Little Band That Could (Audio CD)
I'll let you in on a secret to being a good uncle, giving Brady's CDs as gifts. You've got to have a lot of respect for parents when they are your best friends, so when it comes to gift-giving isn't it reasonable to give things that the kids like and the parents do, too? Giving Rymer's CDs has always worked out really well for me, the uncle to many. The music is catchy, the idea (and sound) of a rock band for young kids is cool, and it's played on the XM Kid's Stuff channel, too, giving you some idea of its popularity already. I love "Pie", "Jump Up", and "Bling Blang".

5.0 out of 5 stars Brady Rymer continues to impress, April 22, 2011

I have seen Brady Rymer's original band From Good Homes play several live shows until their breakup in 1999. The lead singer Todd Sheaffer had a brief solo career and is now part of the bluegrass/jamgrass band Railroad Earth while Brady Rymer took a different path. He wanted to continue to perform but was tired of being away from his wife and young child. His songs appeal to a wide range of ages, kids enjoy the fun lyrics and chorus while parents can appreciate the songwriting and instrumental work. Buy this album for your children then take them to a Brady Rymer live show and let them sing and dance. If you enjoy this album, check out From Good Homes offerings on Amazon. "Take Enough Home" captures them live at their last show in NJ in 1999.

This is a band that you actually get into with your kids. It's not like Barney songs that make you want to put a stick in your eye, this guy actually has talent and makes the songs fun! He has a few different styles like "Road Trip" that's good ole rock and roll or the fiddle in the background of "The Relatives Came" that makes it sound a little country. My absolute favorite is "Jump Up" by far. It's one of those songs that can't help but cheer you up.

5.0 out of 5 stars Our family knows all the words!, June 26, 2009
This review is from: Here Comes Brady Rymer & the Little Band That Could (Audio CD)
We started listening to this CD a month ago when we were planning on going to see Brady in concert. Well, we were unable to attend the concert but we have fallen in love with the music. Wonderful songs and great music. Great for the whole family, adults and kids alike. I think our favorite is Jump Up its a Good Day. The minute we put the CD on we are all dancing. Our 5 year old daughter could listen to it over and over all day. Thanks Brady! We can't wait until your next CD comes out.
