Nice sentiment, but botched execution, August 7, 2008

When this release was first announced, there was a lot of misleading hype surrounding it. Now that it's been released and analyzed, I feel it neccessary to set the record straight.
Sound quality: Good, BUT not as good as the old Sequel CD from England, regardless of what Sundazed says about "never before used tapes". The EQ is shrill, and the stereo channels aren't as wide. I also find the vinyl to be a bit noisy in terms of surface noise rather than pops and clicks. (It is NOT audiophile quality vinyl.)
Content: There are three glaring mistakes that I was able to find. First, there is a serious glitch during the into to "Beatle Bones" where half a beat is missing. Second, the track "Gimme Dat Harp Boy" fades out which was arguably an artistic decision. But the last and most serious mistake, was using a version of "Korn Ring Finger" that has been heavily noise reduced and sounds like a crappy MP3. A nice version of that track was desperately needed, but Sundazed has given us the poorest version ever.
In my opinion, this LP is only good for two things: The unreleased Moody Liz, and the excellent artwork and liner notes.
So don't believe the hype, and don't bother purchasing this LP. Download "Moody Liz (Take 16)" and disregard the rest.

These songs availale on CD reissues, February 18, 2009

The way this was hyped it made it sound like this was the first time that these tracks had surfaced. Not true. All of these tracks and more are appended to the remastered Buddha CD reissues of "Safe as Milk" and "Mirror Man."
