one the best book about Nostradamus,
This review is from: Comet of Nostradamus: August 2004--IMPACT! (Paperback)
This probably one of the best book on Nostradamus.
In the first part of the book R. W. Welch writes about the possibility of comet impact in 2004 and of a war in the Mediterranean. He obviously failed, however Welch foresaw the crash between rhe West and Islam fundamentalism (the book was written before 9/11). The second part of this book is fantastic. Welch analyzes the Nostradamus's quatrains about the past. Welch gives the interpretation of over 350 predictions, many of them previously unsolved or not properly recognised. Each past prediction is given an accuracy rating (Using a scale of ten, only quatrains rated over 7.5 are included. One of his new interpretation is about Saddam Hussein. Here is the quatrain (four-line verses prediction): "He will enter ugly, wicked, infamous, Tyrannizing over Mespotamia (Iraq). All made friends of the illegitame lady; The land horrible black in phisiognomy." Welch writes "The first two lines are an almost self-evident description of dictator Saddam Husein of Iraq,old-time Mesopotamia. The "illegitamate lady" is (...) Liberty, always portrayed (...) as a woman. Since the Seer (Nosrtadamus) was (...)a monarchist, he would naturally wiew as an illegitimate form of government (...).In the Gulf War, world opinion was (...) with democratic powers (all made friends) (...). The verse ends with a plain picture of the effects on Iraq and Kuwait from the Gulf War fighting and the great oil fires that folowed (...). I highly reccomend the book.

You aren't seriously considering buying this... are you?,

Considering that it's now been a year after the title date, and no comet has struck the Earth, let alone Greece (during the Olympics, yet), this book is a flop. Put a prediction and date in your title, trot out Nostradamus, and you may find that your audience expects results. To quote Marvin the Martian: "Where's the Kaboom? There was supposed to be an Earth-shattering Kaboom!".
Don't worry, I'm sure Welch will write another book with amended predictions. It gets a whole star because it's fun to check off the misses on major predictions as they pass.

Why people persist in believing drivel like this is beyond me. Even most low-grade imbeciles would know better. Further discussion would amount to expatiation.

Explore the ancient predictions of the psychic Nostradamus and how they impact us now and in the future. Are we destined to have a comet hit the earth in 2004? Will the apocalypse begin soon? Fascinating look at the predictions for the future of mankind.
