4.0 out of 5 stars Will keep your adrenaline flowing from beginning to end, August 14, 2005
By George Dionne (WWW.ROCK-IS-LIFE.COM) - See all my reviews
(REAL NAME)
The Good
"Out of Control" wallops you right off the bat with a frantic muted progression and rapid-fire guitar licks. An infectious little groove dominates "Let Fate Decide". Scott Sellers vocals come off soothing and impassioned here. The track switches back and forth in tempo. "Never Learn" keeps the energy flowing at break-neck speed. The pounding drums and impressive axemanship help define the songs character. "Mental Games" has a real rock radio feel to it with its simple structure, memorable lyrics, and familiar chord changes.

The drum pattern used on "Life Songs" really stands out, but the melodic vocals and biting riffs are just as noteworthy. Usually the final track of an album is the slowest and dullest. Let's admit it, no one listens to it. Don't make that mistake with "My Escape". Rufio keeps the party going with this fervent rock track. There are four segue track throughout the album that are the heaviest and coolest arrangements. If they were put together, they would make one great old-school metal song.

The Bad
Nothing

The Verdict
The Comfort of Home is full of in-your-face, well written, pop-punk rock tracks that will keep your adrenaline flowing from beginning to end.

5.0 out of 5 stars The Best CD From Rufio........PERIOD, July 13, 2005
Even before I got the CD from the Virgin Megastore, I got a chance to listen to "Out Of Control" because there was a free download off [...]and all I have to say that I knew Rufio was back. As soon as I got my hands off of the CD I listened to the whole CD and then listened to the CD again on that same day just to go through the experience again. Since I have listened to all of their CD's (Perhaps, I Suppose, 1985, and The Comfort Of Home), I can honestly say that this CD is the one that is for a die-hard fan of Rufio. Now to the conclusion.
Songs
1)Out Of Control 5/5
2)Let Fate Decide 5/5
3)A Simple Line 5/5 (I love it because it isn't completely Emo)
4)Interlude 5/5
5)Never Learn 5/5
6)Bitter Season 5/5/
7)Mental Games 5/5
8)Interlude 5/5
9)Drowning 5/5
10)Questions and Answers 5/5
11)Life Songs 3/5
12)Interlude 5/5
13)Walk Don't Run 4/5
14)A View To Save 5/5
15)Interlude 5/5
16)My Escape 5/5

All I have to say is GET THIS CD any possible way you can.

5.0 out of 5 stars Love it!, August 1, 2006
By Guilherme Brandão (São Paulo, Brazil) - See all my reviews
Rufio's my favorite band! I just love them

When i heard "Perhaps, i suppose" i loved it, one of the few albums that when i start hearing it i must wait for it to end to change the cd. It was awesome. Than came out "1985", another mind-blowing album...another very fast and addictive album. Now Rufio's back with "The Comfort Of Home".

This album is almost perfect! You can see that the guys in the band all have grown up, musically and lyrically ... The lyrics in this album are very mature, and very well written.

If the subject is clever, fast and technical guitar riffs Clark is f***ing awesome. If you just remember "Above me" or "Science Fiction" intro riffs you'll know what i'm talking about... in " The Comfort of Home"...Clark is back with full strenght!

Amazing guitar riffs, fast songs, catchy choruses and many other things are guarantied in this album. If you heard any of the Rufio's old stuff and liked it, than you must hear this album...it won't let you down.

And if I was you, I'd buy this album right away!
