Needed, for years...,
By Camilo Rueda Lopez (San Sebastian de Los Reyes, MADRID Spain) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Comfort Y Musica Para Volar Mtv Unplugged (Audio CD)
I've been waiting this footage for almost 15 years... and, despite the time, it remains valid just as if it was recorded yesterday's night.
For me, and this is an absolutely personal opinion, this is truly the last show from Soda Stereo. The last show in terms of creativity, in terms of performance, in terms of makeup and in terms of band's power display and because it was the first live record after their last studio album release just before their decision of disbanding Soda Stereo. Therefore, this one's truly the last show, without any contractual benefit and/or reunition fakes... Fans will appreciate the truth on the sound and the performance (missing on some of the farewell shows), and even newcomers will find why Soda Stereo shattered all americas between 1982 and 1997. And 2007. There's some other "last shows" from Soda Stereo (enjoyable as well), but this one's truly the last show, and you can even feel it from the band's countenance. They were just saying goodbye, and both the music and the people were on a fairwell, without explicitly saying goodbye to their audience, which you can even spot it on their faces and the way they treat themselves. Gustavo's even wearing black eyeglasses during all night long just as if he was a mourning something... And yes, he was. Melancholic but fantastic.
