Since I was in the mood to buy massage chairs, I purchased one that reclined and one for my desk. These are chairs I spend a lot of time in reading and writing reviews. So, comfort is essential for extended periods of sitting.

While the reclining chair proved rather challenging during the assembly session (that seemed to go on for hours), this chair went together rather quickly. The only thing that kept happening is my little kitten thought the plastic caps were toys and I had to keep taking them away from her in order to finish the project.

The instructions for putting this chair together are very well written, complete with detailed instructions and pictures.

The vibration is strong enough that you can feel it through a pillow if you use one on your lower back while sitting.

Things they could improve on:

A slightly more comfortable lower back support.

A way to stop the chair from going back - lock in the position - it reclines slightly and so you can sit with your legs up on the desk, although I'd make sure the base was in a sturdy position with the legs so that if you do lean back the chair doesn't topple.

More padding in the seat - it seems to be spongy at first and then flatten over time.

A remote that can be seen when you are sitting - preferably one that attaches with a cord so you can pull it out to see it at a higher level. You have to reach down next to you and sort of lean over to the right to see the controls.

5 stars for relaxing vibration and armrests
4 stars for beauty of construction material
3 stars for comfort and quality
2 stars for ease of use
1 star for not being high enough on the highest setting

So, as with many of the less expensive vibrating chair items, the vibration is superior to the quality of the actual chair. If you sit for short periods of time to say, just check e-mail, then this chair is recommended because you can get a nice back/leg massage and then go on to other things. It is somewhat comforting in that regard.

Otherwise, for anyone who sits for longer than say 2 hours, I'd say look for a much more padded seat and more options, like locking in the reclining features or having the seat raise to a higher level if you have a higher desk.

P.S. My husband leaned back and broke my chair! SIGH. So
durability may be an issue.

I bought this chair for $99 and I expected it to be good for the money. However, not long after assembling it, the bottom cushion becomes very thin, which causes you to feel the hard massaging motors on the bottom.

Didn't last for more than 1 year. Can't even run off of AC power!!!!!!!!!!!

The good: the massage function works fine, no problems with the performance, and the battery holds a good charge.

The bad: how much money is saved in construction by using the
cheapest foam padding imaginable?

The ugly: the 'pebbled vinyl' material on the arms is already separating after six months. Maybe a cheaper material could have been found...but I doubt it.

Overall good in theory, but very poor in execution. If some real quality were put into the product, it would rate potentially 5 stars. 'Til then,you've been warned....!

You can only use this as a regular chair. The massage functions only makes noises and shakes the chair. Don't waist your money on this!

It came missing parts and was just a vibrating chair. It had no massage function at all. Big waste.

I bought the chair at office depot in Las Vegas on sale. Setup was basic for an average person and took about 1 hour to assemble. One month after using the chair as my computer chair on a daily basis. (Average 2-3 hrs a day) The seat bottom flattened out completely and lost its cushion feel. Now just a flat hard bottom. This last week I found my self sitting in the chair but facing the ceiling because the welding at the seat base had cracked and broke completely. Now Im trying to find a website where I can order replacement parts and I cannot find one. Tomarro I will call the 1-800-971-4630 parts line that I found on a sticker under the chair. Over all I have liked this chair alot and enjoyed the relaxing massage after work. I wish the company that makes these would send me a new replacement. I feel that maybe this one may have been a defect or that since they may have updated the cushion and Id love to see todays product. If you are paying under $100 for it it is worth it but anything more than that is not reasonable with the product quality in the area of cushion and structual integrity. As with many office chairs I did sit in to check for comfort. I like this one because the seat back was comfortable for MY body. Consider finding this product locally and sitting in it first to see if it is comfortable for you as well. Then find your best price if you like the product. I think I will go to Office Depot and see if they still carry this one and check out what kind of quality they are putting out these days on this paticular chair. I feel that most people out there would like this product but know one thing this chair will not last 9 years by a long shot so if you can get a 9 year guarantee as Ive seen on a couple of websites go for it and save all your documentation. Good luck!! Since the purchase of this chair you can now buy a Homedics Shihatsu masage chusion for your office chair and it is designed for office chairs with high back designs. Consider buying one of these if you want a real massage. This chair only gives you a vibrating massage but has nice options and a unique overall massage program that will give you some relaxation. Sorry to say it dosnt come with "Happy Ending" feature! haha

I got this chair for the office. I sit in it every day....but no longer use the massage features. I really thought it was the most comfortable of a few chairs I tried. The cushion is somewhat cheap, but it's not any worse than any other chairs at this price. The leather isn't too bad either for the price. I paid $150, but as many people know...you can get it much cheaper if you look around and catch a sale. I rated it a 3 out of 5 because I still enjoy sitting in it. I can imagine though, I'll be searching for another chair in another year or two.

The chair is comfortable, but the massage features are pretty subpar and it's not as good as some other massage chairs that I've seen for about 50 more dollars. Nonetheless, it's a good buy if you want basic massage features and can only pay for a normal office chair. If I could go back in time, I would spend a little more money and get something better.

I owned this chair 3 yrs ago...for the price it gives a great massage. Unfortunately, a heavy-set guy used it and would slouch forward and moved the pressure plate...just about rendering it useless. I just received my new chair (after having waited for 16 months) and it still gives me the same satisfaction.

I used this as my chair at work and could sit in the chair for 4+ hrs at a stretch, no problem. I weigh in the 200lbs area.

I bought this at $100, and feel it is well worth the price at this price-point.
