5.0 out of 5 stars Good quality at a reasonable price
First impression of this product is favorable. The chair is comfortable with a relatively firm seat cushion. It is an attractive chair with leather on the seating areas and matching vinyl elsewhere. The arms are sturdy molded plastic. Be aware the seat cushion width is 19.5 inches - which may be tight for larger folks. I replaced a ten year old office chair with this...

This thing is unbelievably lame. It doesn't massage. It vibrates. Y'all have sat in massage chairs before at Sharper Image or Brookstone. They can be really good, with kneading balls that roll around giving a surprisingly deep back massage.

This thing doesn't even resemble those chairs. Trust me. I am sitting in one now. It is my main office chair. I have not...

I replaced a ten year old office chair with this produce and am pleased thus far.

The massage feature works well and the controls are similar to a high end hand held massager. It has full features for controlling which motors are active, the intensity, as well as variable pulse. With high intesity the chair tilt mechanism tends to vibrate and cause some minor noise. A transformer is included which can power the chair directly or charge the battery. Manufacturer claims 4 hour battery life, but I have yet to test that feature.

Build quality is good. All hardware has one spare, and the bolts include thread lock to prevent backing out - which was a problem with my older chair. Assembly is simple and the only tool required is an allen wrench which is provided. It took me less than 30 minutes to assemble.

Bottom line is that I would purchase this chair again.

This thing doesn't even resemble those chairs. Trust me. I am sitting in one now. It is my main office chair. I have not turned on the "massage" function, or even plugged it in, since about three days after I bought it.

The "massage" feature is more like an annoy feature. It just shakes you around a bit, but doesn't actually feal good in any way.

The leather quality of the chair is average, but it looks good, feels comfortable, and the motor massage works well. Bottom line: for the price, this chair is excellent!

4.0 out of 5 stars Good quality, works well, not for tall folks, July 3, 2005
This review is from: Comfort Products 60-5298 Four Motor Massage Office Chair (Health and Beauty)
Fast shipping from Amazon via UPS. Nice good quality, took less than 20 minutes to put it together. The seat is firm but comfortable to sit in. Easy to adjust the height and tilt of the chair. I am six feet one, so the only complain so far is the massage function won't reach my upper back (hense the 4 stars). All three mode of massages are pretty standard. There must be a timer after you start massaging, not sure about how long, maybe 10 to 15 minutes before it stops. Massage will stop if you stand up with lights flashing. A useful function to conserve battery power. With the current discount, it's a very good value. Recommended.

1.0 out of 5 stars Four Motor Motion Sickness Vibrator, December 23, 2005
This review is from: Comfort Products 60-5298 Four Motor Massage Office Chair (Health and Beauty)
Amazon should provide rating less than 1, like a 0 or -1. I would have rated this -1 or even lesser.

Its not a massage chair, its a VIBRATOR Chair. As soon as I got the delivery, I started charging, but it only took 10 secs to know its vibrating instead of massaging. Immediately switched of , packed and returned. Its too good to be true that they're selling a massage chair for around $80 unless its a crap. I would go for one of those portable shiatsu massage.

Pretty good chair for the price.

The massage however is kind of weak, almost useless, more like a vibrating chair.

For the price this is the greatest, it is comfortable and the massage feature is very tingly. The only problems I see with this chair is the width of the seat, if you have wide hips this might not be the chair for you. The other thing is the controls for the massage are bolted to the seat on the side so it's very awkward to ajust them with out bending clear over or having a tiny hiny. We really love our chair though.

The other reviews are right: this is more of a "vibrating" chair than a massage chair. However, $80 is a pretty good price for a leather office chair, and I just see the "massaging" function as a bonus. The chair is fairly sturdy and looks good.

The quality of the actual chair is better than I expected.

I wish that the massage motor unit(s) were more powerful.

Overall, I would buy it again!

I bought this chair for my work, as I thought it would be something that might help out with back and neck pain due to sitting all day. Charged the chair per the instructions, and things seemed to work fine through the 1st charge cycle. Then the battery died (would not accept a charge, or work while plugged in - vibrating function would not work, regardless of what was done). So now it's just a regular chair; which would not be all bad if it was a super comfortable, high-end chair - but it's not. It is reasonably comfortable, but I don't even use it as the primary chair in my office any more.

On the plus side, setup was easy and it has been a sturdy reliable chair. But for anyone who looking for a true massage chair - keep looking. Buyer beware on this one!
