This is an awesome beanbag, but not at all what I expected. First off it comes vacuum sealed in a bag that makes you think it is fairly small. 5.0 out of 5 stars Awesome Bean Bag, October 18, 2009

This is an awesome beanbag, but not at all what I expected. First off it comes vacuum sealed in a bag that makes you think it is fairly small. Don't let that fool you, once this sucker is exposed to air and kicked around a bit it's flipping huge. It's so huge that when we squished it into my Honda Civic it blacked out all the rear windows, and pressurized the front seats. If I had gotten rear ended driving this thing home; it would of either saved my life or ejected the driver seat through the windshield. It holds an amazing amount of heat, making it very comfortable and increasingly easy to want to fall asleep in. It can hold two people pretty easily, the lady in the picture must be like 6'6". It has a zipper and it reads as machine washable, but I'm not convinced it's double bagged yet as I can't get the zipper open, it's pretty small. If there is a cover for this it might be a worthy investment, I'd hate to see what would happen if the foam got loose. Pet hair will stick to it like no other, but that's to be expected. Overall I'm very happy with it, just keep in mind that it will look way bigger in a small apartment then it does at your parent's house. =)

5.0 out of 5 stars It is worth what you are spending, September 23, 2010

This review is from: Comfort Research Fuf Large Foam Bean Bag Chair, Black Twill (Kitchen)
After reading almost all reviews and watching the video posted by one of the customers I still decided to buy this and Now after using it for some time I am posting my opinion -

1) Size - Just to give you an idea, I am 6 feet tall, around 240 pounds guy,and I can sit easily in it and on it with my legs little curled. All this means is that if you are shorter than me, you can sometimes even use this as a bed :). Yes this Bean bag is huge when fully expanded.

2) Smell - Some mentioned about smell, well I had also experienced it but it wasn't something that I couldn't sit on it. And it is gone after few days of using.

3) Comfort - Please note that this is not your old school Bean bag means I don't think it has beans in it. It has their own kind of material which expands and contracts but does a good job. So I think the material that person is showing in video is correct but I will not call it trash.

Whole procedure -

It arrived in a not very small box, but still small as compared to the full expanded bag. Looked ghetto to me as it didn't carry any company mark or anything. So well I tore opened the box and took out this and left it to expand. Now if it were beans it would expand right away, but like i said it is not our conventional bean bag so it needs some time to expand. And some time means I kicked it around and let it sit over night.

Next day I saw that big thing sitting in my living room. I use it while I watch TV or play PS3. It is comfortable. It will be compressed when you will sit on it (which it is supposed to do) but will expand after use. One thing I have to say is that since it doesn't have usual beans it it, it doesn't expand right away.

Summary - If you want to buy a big bean bag, this is the one for you. Don't hesitate. I am using it and loving it and dont have any issues. It is big, so make sure you know where you are going to put it. I think for this size of a bean bag, it is worth the money spent.

******** Update after around 1 year of use ********

This is still perfect. I would never again buy a conventional bean bag as after prolonged use, one needs to add beans to it which is extra cost. The material in this bean bag is amazing. All it needs is some kicking to let it expand again and that's it. If you are looking for a good and big bean bag, go for this guy.

Well, maybe you should really listen to the reviewers. I really like the bean bag, and im actually sitting on it as i write this, it is comfortable. Their was one issue though. i had read a review here about a guy, he posted a video as well, and he complained about the bag being filled with random worthless things, So that was at the back of my mind, when i sat down earlier today i noticed a noise was made, something kind of paper-ish. i had completely dismissed the other persons review because i had felt nothing but foam, but after i herd what sounded like a piece of plastic or paper i got curios. so i got ff the bean bag and looked for the zipper.

Well, when i found the zipper, i noticed that only the first layer was zipped, so i began to look for the second layers zipper to zip it up just for the fact that it was open even though i flipped it over to unzip it. Well, while i searched, the first layer of the zipper unzipped and the bag opened. What i saw inside was not surprising. It was the same exact things the other reviewer had shown in his video, the stuff did stink. I was kind of surprised though because it was just a bunch of cut up foam pieces and some other stuff in their i really couldn't account for. Well i thought, whatever, this sucker is still comfortable, So i went to zip the first layer back up, Surprise!! the zipper wasent budging, The zipper dident move, and worst of all, the zipper did not have a tab to grab it by, it was just the zipper piece that opens and closes the bag.

well, i got preaty pissed. I payed a hundred dollars for this thing, and it doesent even have a zipper tab to close the darn thing back up? What the hell were the people who designed this smoking? Well i thought, maybe its just the one on the first layer that doesn't have a tab, so i began to look for the second layers zipper, and surprise #2 , their was none!! I was almost going to panick, what the hell was i gonna do, if i couldent close the bag it was going to be useless and not only that it was going to make a mess!, But i so happened to CALM myself, take a deep breath, and maintain my positive chi level, thus proposing some creative tactics, I ended up grabbing some pliers and messed with the zipper for about 10 minutes, the way the zipper is designed is like that of a one wayy street, it only goes foreward, so i took off the zipper and then had to tear a little piece of the zipper track/teeth to get the zipper through on the other side, once i did, i zipped it back up, although i got a piece of foam stuck on zipper track so it could possibly open back up if i move to much on the bag.

Well, i can tell you that this is a confortable bean bag, so i do like it. But i can also tell you, this is an expensive bean bag ($100 might be nothing to some people but i personally do not like throwing money away) and for the lack of quality control on the manufacturers part, it deeply troubles me that people might not get their moneys worth for a product that fails to meet the quality standard of something of that price. Why put a zipper in place when it cannot be used? just sow the bag shut, end of story, why risk rendering the bag useless from trying to open it because your zippers don't work instead of just completely sealing them? I don't know!!??

As for the contents, it gets me to think of my bean bag as ironically, a trash bag, well, one you can sit on, although i like calling it my crap bag instead of my bean bag now, So i will tell you, i cannot recommend on my behalf that anyone interested in a quality product spend their money on this product. Hell, i wouldn't buy another product from these guys again, but im trying to keep my crap bag restrained and in shape so the zipper doesn't fly open again because i do like how it feels, its not the best but its a decent comfortable feeling.

Bur... i will say, HEED the warning! if you decide to buy this, or already have it, Do not open the bean bag if you dont have to, it might not close again. But if your one of those adventerous types that likes fixing messes, i hope you have some McGeiver skills, cuz your going to need them to cllose that bag back up, if its not missing zippers and zipper tabs ofcourse.

and for peace of mind, the bag looks nothing like the picture, the bag in the picture is probably fully loaded with foam to have that chair like apearance. the fact is, it just looks like a big bean bag on the floor, my feet do not hang over the bean bag and they do not dangle above the ground, i cross both of my feet completely stretched out and my heels rest on the ground.

So beleave me, if i hadent gotten that zipper closed, i would not be a happy camper right now, proceed with caution.

3-31-10 UPDATED

SURPRISE SURPRISE, the zipper threading came undone again! Options? throw away, or sow? Well, ive mentioned before, i dont like throwing money away, so now as i write this, my mom is sowing the bean bag(trash bag) back up, its probably a temporary fix but eventually this crap bag will be tossed out.

ill have to mention now, the stuff inside stinks, and it does seep through the cloth layer. The inner belongings(resembling trash) once its positioned it can become a pain to reposition(you have to kick it around a lot, and shape with your hands, and toss around the insides until you make a new form, making it pretty reckless for the reason that in the process, the zipper threading will probably be undone. And beleave me, you will have to reposition the inner belongings because they'll become flat)

final analysis, if you want to pay $100 for a trash bag, this is your product baby!! If not, save yourself the head ache, keep searching for a cool bean bag, this one aint it!

1.0 out of 5 stars very expensive trash bag, September 18, 2010

After reading both the positive and negative reviews i decided to make the purchase. There are no instructions, if you want to know what to do you have to read other people's reviews. I could not understand what the white stuff on the surface of the chair were but i got my answer once i opened the chair zipper. I was tempted to send it back but against my better judgement i decided to fluff it up. After clawing the insides and kicking the chair around it started to fluff up and i thought to myself maybe i can make it work. Boy was i wrong, the zipper popped; on closer examination i realized that they used an incredibly cheap type of zipper and it cannot be fixed. How in the world are we suppossed to wash this bag? i guess i would have to empty out the contents into trash bags. For the price you would think that they would have issued an extra cover. What a waste of my hard earned cash. I cannot send it back because i would not know how vacuum pack the foamy stuff inside the bag. THINK REALLY HARD BEFORE YOU PURCHASE.

5.0 out of 5 stars As described and makes us cozy!, April 4, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Comfort Research Fuf Large Foam Bean Bag Chair, Black Twill (Kitchen)
We spent a lot of time looking for the right bag at the right price. Ebay, bean bag stores, department stores that had similar items. Coming from someone who analyzes cost-to-benefit ratios for a living, this is the best buy. Look no further. Trust me, we did a lot of homework, so you don't have to.

This anti-bean bag is as described: filled with foam and ginormous. Fits the two of us with room to breathe (5'10" athletic; 5'3" petite). Previous reviewer said to kick it around to revive its cushy innards. Totally works. We decided to spend more than a couple of kicks on it (which is like a cathartic release before sinking into this bag's ample plushness), and the bag puffed up to nigh 3 feet--which made it all the more fun to take a flying leap into this massive pillow.

Other reviewers complained of the smell. It's a bit chemical-like, but it's gone within a couple of days. Actually, let me qualify that. I never lay face down in the bag. One should never lay face down in any sort of bag, deeply inhaling. Just bad practice.

The best part was upon receiving our beloved addition to our borderline man-cave, we couldn't pull it out of the box. We didn't receive a bag in a box. We received a box held captive by our massive bag. After releasing the box (and packing), tearing it apart from the bag's monster grip, the foam immediately began to puff up. Kind of fun to watch--writhing and squirming as it grew.

Only qualm is some of the foam was packed tightly together, so we had to spend a bit of time "kneading" the foam to break it apart. We didn't need to open the bag to do this. I have no idea why other reviewers are so curious about your bag's innards. It's cushy. It's revivable. Why do you need to know any more about it? I've never dismantled my sofa because I wondered why it supported me so well in rest. Anyway, not a lot of work for what is now our favorite thing.

5.0 out of 5 stars Awesome chair, April 14, 2010

I think you should disregard the video review below claiming theres "trash" inside of this chair. This chair is so comfortable and amazing, sure the factory smell isnt pleasant but it goes away after after a few days. Fluff it up and mold it the way you want and its like sitting on a cloud, it really is very comfortable. What I like most about this is the molding ability, I was able to make it just like a chair...It has a place for your arms to rest and a back high enough to rest your neck and head on. And it stays in that shape until I want to change it. Turn it over, smack it a couple times and its once again a moldable cloud. As for the claim of "trash" inside of this, its bogus. Yes there are scraps of paper and plastic, but they dont make any excess noise that ive noticed and they are there to create a cushion with a precise consistancy. The right consistency will create a cushion thats hard enough to not sink to the floor, but still soft enough to feel like a cloud. Id say the consistency is perfect. For $100 this is completely worth it.

3.0 out of 5 stars Be ready to shape it up everyday otherwise it's like a mat, August 26, 2010
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Comfort Research Fuf Large Foam Bean Bag Chair, Black Twill (Kitchen)
I bought this bean bag because it's so big I can use it instead of a couch in front of our nice living room window and read.

The bag is big, but not really big enough to sleep on as some people say. A young child, like a 5 year old, probably can sleep on it.

When it is first roughed up and expanded to its full size after you unpack, it is like a giant ball. You sit on it, and you realize that you don't sink in as much, so you don't have as much back support as you may want. But I guess some people may like that. You don't want to sink in too much that your knees are tough your mouth.

The biggest drawback of this bean bag is that it will eventually (after a day or two) fall flat, so it looks like a giant thick hamburger. Then when you sit on it, you don't sink at all, almost like a solid bed. You then tend to just lie there and read your book facing down like you do on a bed, and it becomes uncomfortable soon.

You really need to pick the bean bag up and totally rough it up to get the air in and make it into a ball again. But it's so big (and eventually gets dusty), you just don't want to do it very time you want to use it.

Eventually we found a good use for it which is quite unexpected. The staircase in our home is very wide, wide enough for the bean bag to easily roll downstairs. A few times my boys rolled it down for fun and then they had to push it back up. Since it's so big, it takes a lot of effort. This gave a mom who always worries about her kids not doing enough exercises some ideas. Now whenever it's too hot or too cold for the kids to go outside to do sports, I just ask them to push the bean bag up and down the stairs 5 to 10 times. Even my 11 year old can do it himself, but he will break a sweat. What's even better, every time after they roll the bags, my bag is all puffy and spongy again and I can sit in it and actually read.

I guess it's not a bad purchase after all.

4.0 out of 5 stars Good for kids room, April 18, 2010

This review is from: Comfort Research Fuf Large Foam Bean Bag Chair, Black Twill (Kitchen)
This bean bag is huge just as everyone else has claimed in their reviews- it is slightly wider than a papasan chair and sits like a monster potato. Its filled with foam bits and is very fluffy+ comfortable+ roomy enough for a 6ft 4inches 250 lb person. Personally my major issue with it was the smell others are talking about... like tires/plasticky/packing materials. I have a good sense of detection and it bothered me. So after a month I gave it away to a friend who didn't care about the smell problem. One other issue is that it does not look very chic because the cover material is twill and it fits around the foam loosely (i.e. like a loose-fitting over-sized cushion cover). This will be great for a kids room- very comfy, or if you are a student in college. For people who are allergic to dust, this would not be a good option. Overall, it is a comfy chair and worth the money if you dont care about the stated minuses.

5.0 out of 5 stars Exactly What I Wanted - An Extremely Large and Comfortable Foam/Bean Bag Chair, May 9, 2010
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Comfort Research Fuf Large Foam Bean Bag Chair, Black Twill (Kitchen)
Despite what a few negative reviewers here said, I went ahead and purchased the "Comfort Research Large Fuf Bean Bag Chair" and boy, I couldn't be happier. Once the funny looking and medium sized box arrived at my door, I unwrapped it to find an extremely compressed block that instantly started to expand once I unwrapped the plastic.

The foam material inside seemed to be a large cube that I had to literally punch and claw at until it fully broke apart. Once there were many clumps of the foam, I had to kick it around a bit until the bag started to "fuf" up. I sat in it and felt pretty comfortable, but it seemed a little flat. I left it for the rest of the day and finally went to bed.

The next morning there was a HUGE black blob in my room and I could tell that the air got to the foam pieces inside. The chair was now as tall as my couch and I didn't hesitate to fall into it. It felt like I was laying on a cloud that formed to my full body (5' 7"). You will get engulfed in this thing and not want to get up. I took a small nap in it later that day and felt great afterward.

I'm laying on it right now typing this review on my iPad. I'm extremely comfortable and it's been perfect for being lazy/sleeping, playing video games, or watching movies/tv. There was a minor factory smell to it the first day but it's practically gone by hour 48 of owning this chair. It has to be "re-fufed" once in a while by kicking the sides or turning it over but the material poofs back up and becomes more comfortable than ever.

There's no noise that I hear when moving around and this is one of the most comfortable things I've ever relaxed in. I'm extremely pleased with this purchase and look forward to relaxing in it after a long day's work. Highly recommended, especially for the price.

Our family loves this chair! It takes about a week to get it to its full size, and does take some work to seperate all the pieces of foam - but its worth it! You have to reshape it a lot, but its what you would expect with a chair like this. Smell is a little funny - but febreze helps a lot.
