this is a very beutiful product. i have had it for only 1 week so cannot attest to the durablility of the product or the hinges. the woodwork is awsome. completely blows you away. the seat looks like a work of art. i keep going to the bathroom to see it.very very nice. the hinges are brass and look nice too.the seat is very comfortable. however unlike the description on the amazon site this is not a soft close seat. it is the conventional seat that will slam down if you leave it.
overall a very nice and comfortable product.

Looks like a piece of furniture. Color is very dark. Was easy to install. I have no idea why it is called a comfort seat. It is just wood and no more comfortable than any hard seat.
Creaks a bit when you sit on it. But sure much nicer than what I got from Home Depot a couple years ago. I plan to buy more to replace the others that look really tacky in comparison. Worth the money. The hardware is exceptional. It is not soft close.

THIS DESIGNER WOOD SEAT IS THE MOST BEAUTIFUL I'VE EVER SEEN. THE FINISH IS LIKE A PIECE OF FINE FURNITURE. THE COLOR IS AS IT APPEARED IN THE AD, THEREFORE, I RECOMMEND IT HIGHLY. PS: THE SHINE IS LIKE A MIRROR!!
