This seat was not cheap . Yet I keep having to tighten the bolts. The seat will slip to one side or the other at any given time. I was disappointed about the fullness of the seat part of the seat. Not really comfortable . I would not recommend this toilet seat. I will be replacing it as soon as I find one that is right.

Great seat. I have been looking for one like this (at stores) for some time. I was amazed it was so hard to find. I prefer these hinges for easy cleaning. I have been very pleased with this. You don't appreciate a good seat until you have one that is not good!


**UPDATE** 10 months later, I am heartbroken. The first set of plastic nuts loosened up, and then ended up cracking and falling off. I purchased a second set of plastic nuts and they will not stay tight. They loosen frequently and will probably soon crack (I assume from the seat wiggling back and forth). It seems that they don't use metal nuts because they rust, but the plastic ones do not stay tight. The problem seems to be that there is some play in the bar where the hinges are. It can wiggle back and forth a bit, and then it loosens everything up. Not sure what to do. Love the seat but can't keep it securely attached!

I wanted a seat that was made out of wood that didn't look cheap with plastic bolts and hinges, so I found this one. The color is almost a perfect match for my American Standard elongated toilet in bone. It is slightly larger than the toilet itself but hardly worth noting. I am very pleased so far with it after two months.

The hardware on this item is not corrosion proof. After only a few months of use, the hinge has corrosion all over. In addition to that, the junk plastic nut that they include to fasten the seat to the bowl gets stripped from use, and no longer holds the seat still. This has happened on both seats that I have.

This is the one you want if quality of manufacture and finish concerns you. I bought a American Standard weeks before and was VERY disappointed with the paint finish. Uneven, drips. This one is excellent.
