Product Description

Size: One Piece Full Size Comfort U Pillow | Product Packaging: Frustration-Free Packaging

The Comfort U Total Body Support Pillow molds itself to the shape of your body to cradle you in complete comfort from head to toe. This extraordinary pillow surrounds you in a cocoon of support, relieving pressure to many areas of the body, which drastically reduces your need to toss and turn. You get uninterrupted, restful sleep. The Comfort U Body Pillow is filled with Fusion Fiber, so it's always soft, fluffy, and totally hypoallergenic. Fusion Fiber is made from a polyester polymer with extremely high heat resistance. Each strand is highly polished to insure that the fibers move easily against each other to avoid lumping or clumping. Next, they are twisted or spiraled to give them a soft springy rebound when compressed in use. Finally, the fibers are joined in a conjugate fashion (symmetrical) resulting in a small cluster between one eighth to one quarter inch in diameter. The varying size of each cluster allows them to fit together and fill the voids between themselves providing a very comfortable sleeping surface. Fusion Fiber has become extremely desirable because it can resist very high washing and drying temperatures. This feature is extremely beneficial as it allows the Comfort U to dry faster than any other fiberfill. Care Instructions: Daily fluffing of your Comfort U is recommended. Manufacturer recommends laundering in a front loading, commercial size washer and dryer (as in a Laundromat). The Comfort U is large and needs the space to move around to dry. It is also recommended to add a tennis ball or clean gym shoe to the drying cycle to evenly fluff the pillow. Features: Comfort-U Body Support Pillow offers you all the support you need. Can be extremely effective at helping to reduce back pain. White cotton/polyester washable pillowcase. Measures - 68" Length x 15" Wide 16" Diameter. Shipping weight 10 lbs. Handcrafted in the USA.

Some reviewers here have complained that the pillow flattens too easily. Note that according to the web site sitincomfort (The Comfort Store), there are two kinds of Comfort U pillows: one is stuffed with Fusion Fiberfill, and the other is stuffed with Fossfill. The Fusion Fiberfill is what's being sold on this Amazon page. Read carefully; other Amazon sellers stock the Fossfill version.

This is an important point to consider, depending on your priorities. My understanding is that the Fusion Fiberfill is supposed to feel more like a real down pillow--which means it's likely to need to be fluffed more, too. Tricky with such a big pillow.

So I recomend doing a little research and checking out the Fossfill version. The Fossfill version is allegedly better at maintaining its shape, and also lets air circulate better so it's not as hot.

I hesitated to buy a $100 pillow for pregnancy. But I'm not a side sleeper, so I was having real problems sleeping by about 16 weeks. Every time I turned over, I'd have to re-adjust all my pillows. So I took the plunge. This pillow has fulfilled all of my expectations and then some (I'm now 34 weeks, so have used it for almost 5 months). I'm a pillow snob too (I have 'my' pillows that I have trouble sleeping without), and this pillow is the perfect combination of soft and supportive. Also, a couple reviews said it was for 'large' people, which worried me, but I personally haven't found this to be the case (I'm slender and 5'7", and then there is the pregnancy bump of course!)

I chose this pillow because I wanted a 'horsehoe' pillow that went down both sides of my body, as the doctor said I could half-lie on my back as long as I had pillows propping me at an angle. This is why I chose this pillow over the other pregnancy pillows that only go on one side of your body, and I'm SO GLAD i did. I cannot imagine having to move a huge pillow from side to side every time you roll over. Added to that, with this pillow I can lay on my side and curl around it with the front of my body, then also lean back a little with the pillow behind me to get a bit of a different position. The pillow is always there no matter how I shift positions! I tried to sleep without it for one night when I was staying at my mom's, and my hips had sharp, shooting pains and I barely slept. Yes, it is that dramatic!

Some people have commented on the size - it is a big pillow. I have actually slept with it in a single, queen and king sized bed, as I learned I can't sleep without it and so took it with me when I traveled (in a huge duffel bag - again, I love this pillow).

I suffer from chronic joint pain and severe headaches. My doctor recommened that I look into a maternity body pillow similar to this product since I could use it to support my back and hips when i sleep on my side and that by using the u-shaped pillow as my only neck and head pillow, ease the muscle tension that aggravated my headaches. He was so right! I purchased this product, the Comfort U pillow and once I modified a bit, it was perfect. it tends to be a little too long on the sides and as a result, it flattens out where your legs rest on it. It is also a little underfilled. To correct that, I got two elastic hair bands and turned the U upside down so it was resting on the U. I then took the ends and shook all the stuffing down each arm until I had siz to 8 inches of empty pilow case. I wrapped the hair elastics around the ends, pinching the empty part shut so that the filling couldn't get back in there. When I patted the pillow down to make the stuffing even, it was nice and firm no longer had a tendency to go flat. It's an easy thing to do if you want a firmer pillow.

That said, I recommend that you Google a different store called "the Comfort Store" because they sell this for the same exact price but offer free shipping which will save you over $30. be aware that the Comfort U pillow comes with one white pillow case shaped to fit the pillow. You can purchase extra pillow cases for aboyt $34. I bought one in beige and I liked it much better than the white one. it matched my yellow floral bedding. They offer a blue pillow case as well (sold separately). The money you save on shipping by buying from the Comfort Store can buy you an extra pillow case!

I bought this a little prematurely into my pregnancy. I am a stomach sleeper my nature so when I found out that I would eventually need to start sleeping on my sides I went out and read EVERY review known to man on every pregnancy pillow known to man. I initially had a hard time buying this because I wasn't sure that I could justify almost 100 bucks on a pillow! It came in the mail promptly, with a great protective plastic bag that it can be stored in. However, I was only about 2 months pregnant at the time and unfortunately it didn't get much use. I was sad that I'd spent the money on something I wasn't using. Then month 4-5 came around where I could no longer sleep on my stomach. Let me tell you, this has been the best thing to ever happen to me. This rocks my world so much more than the boppy does and let me explain why. When you first start having to sleep on your side, you can probably stay on 1 side the entire night, you might roll over once. So...lugging you body pillow or boppy to go to the other side isn't too bad. However, when you hit month 7 to 8 and the relaxin has started to kick in, your hips are spreading, and the entire world hurts... staying on 1 side the entire night isn't an option. You will turn several times throughout the night to relieve the pressure that is on the hip you've been sleeping on. Because you're already getting crappy sleep to begin with, the less you have to wake yourself up in order to turn over (because you can't just roll at 7 to 8 months...it's a process to get to the other side) the better. Which means if you're not having to lug your pillow to the other side while trying to not wake your significant other or drag all the blankets with you to reposition and get comfortable...all to repeat that in a few hours... it's probably for the best.Read more ›
