We bought this to heat up specific areas of our drafty apartment. Mostly, we've been using it in our living room, which is miserably cold in the winter. The room is about 10x14, and this little heater maxes out to warm it comfortably. I used it one day to jumpstart the temperature in my son's much smaller room and it was effective in minutes. It really is for smaller rooms.

Pros:
-Does warm quiet well
-Stay cool housing
-Automatically turns off if tipped over
-Two fan speeds for heat, and one for fan alone (I can't tell any difference between low and high, though)

Cons:
-It's quite loud. If you're watching a movie, or trying to talk on the phone, it's a bit intrusive
-The cord gets warm. That seems rather worrying, except that we never leave it on or plugged in unmonitored. I don't feel like it is suddenly going to explode, I just wouldn't leave any electric heater on or plugged in with our old-house wiring (we even unplug our toaster when we're not using it)
-It's not very efficient if the heat is not turned all the way up - comes off and on every five minutes or so, which, combined with the noise level, is a little annoying
-Also the grate on the front (pretty small) does heat up, so it'll have to be out of reach if you have crawlers or pets.

All this to say, we're keeping it. It's already here, the price was right and it makes our frozen tundra of a living room quite cozy. I'm just going to pretend the noise is the sound of crashing waves on a seashore in the tropics.

ABSOLUTELY the best little heater out there. I've had oil filled, ceramic, etc.none put out heat like this. It's almost like the feeling you get when opening the oven door, but none stop. It heats up my 300 sq ft living room like a charm, went from 40 to 70 degrees in a little over a hour. Do not hesitate to buy, you wont regret it!

I got 2 of these last yr at walmart clearance out at $10.00 each.I deducted 1 star because the end cords get hot,I unplugged it and the prongs were like a hot iron, would of burned if you touched them. And because it trips my circuts.I have to run them on the 750 whatt which is not as hot as the 1500 whatts.I turned it down in the bathroom to 2 1/2 notches which doesn't heat it up,but does help take the edge off.I went back several times this week to find the power off in the back part of the house even at 750.So,even tho I got them cheap,I'd like it better if the ends didn't heat up.Maybe I need to change the cords out to a bigger one.Or else run a line in from the power box and have them on their own circuts with a 20 amp plug of their own. Then maybe I could run them at 1500 while it's freezing in here.Right now I have to turn on my propane stove and have a huge canning pot with a lid that I heat up to a boil, then turn down so the steam heats the room, cause this heater just won't do it like it is.With the 2,I am warm now.I got that steam tip yrs ago.It really works to heat a room/house up.Just have to fill it,and check it.And turn it off when I go to bed,or leave the house.

I have had mine for several years. I purchased a second one for a Christmas present. The warmth they radiate is great in the mornings when the arthritis is acting up.

Got this in a brick and mortar store (at a better price than here) and this is easily the best space heater that I've had; easily warmer than any other type that I've tried. It warmed a drafty 200 sq foot office faster and better than any of these ceramic tower, infrared or radiant oil-heater types

Some have commented upon the noise level and while you clearly hear when it is running, mine (at least) is not obtrusive nor even especially loud.

There are only 2 disadvantages that I've found to this unit. First, the cord gets REALLY (really) hot on its high setting. So far, it's still running fine after several weeks but such will probably affect its longevity IF you keep it on high. It's cheap enough, however, (about $25) to replace a couple of times for the cost of its competitors. Second, I normally keep the heater under my desk for easy access and because the other units that I've tried have just not been powerful enough to keep me warm otherwise. This produces way (way) too much heat to do that and I have to keep it at least 3 feet away, even at its low setting

Producing too much heat is a pleasant problem to have.

Then this is the one. The build is solid NOT flimsy. it heats a fairly good size space, 12 x 15 feet, fairly quickly on 1250 watts with the thermostat set midrange or even a notch lower. Works exactly as it should. No wobble even on carpet. Requires only the attachment of the feet which slide into manufactured grooves and are attached with two screws per foot. Screws are enclosed. Has a REAL handle on the back for carrying.

These were an exceptional value for $34.95 and I bought two, one for the dining area in my kitchen which is all ceramic tile flooring and gets quite cool in the winter with French doors on the north side of my home. And one for my upstairs master bedroom just underneath a 6 foot by 4 foot bedroom window.

So far, I've been able to keep my heating bill below $115/month even with the thermostat on the heat pump at 68 degrees this winter, while running these on 1250 watts at a midrange setting on the thermostat's dial.

I like these so much better than the plastic encased Holmes 24" Tower which turned out to be really lightweight and flimsy and doesn't heat near as well or quickly even on the 1500 watt setting. These may not "look" as esthetic but they darn well work and do so at a good price while being much more compact and therefore, more locatable throughout most places in my home.

They arrived well packaged without any dents and arrived quickly. What's not to like about something that you can still find that's actually good quality, works exactly as intended and hasn't gone up in price far more than it's worth???? I can deal with a little less esthetics when I'm looking to be warmer in the winter for less.
